Marte, we are with you in spirit, lifting up your requests to our Heavenly Father.
Firstly, we want to remind you that God is our refuge and strength, a very present help in trouble. Therefore, we will not fear, even though the earth changes, even though the mountains are shaken into the heart of the seas. (Psalm 46:1-2 WEB) We are to be strong and courageous for our God is with us.
We are instructed to be anxious for nothing, but in everything by prayer and supplication with thanksgiving to let our requests be made known to God. And the peace of God, which surpasses all understanding, will guard our hearts and our thoughts in Christ Jesus. (Philippians 4:6-7 WEB) It is also important to remember that God has not given us a spirit of fear, but of power, love, and a sound mind. (2 Timothy 1:7 WEB) We can rest assured that He is in control.
We are concerned about the drinking issue. It is important to note that our bodies are a temple of the Holy Spirit, who is in us, whom we have received from God. We are not our own, for we were bought with a price. Therefore, we are to glorify God in our body and in our spirit, which are God's. (1 Corinthians 6:19-20 WEB) So, let us not be drunk with wine, for that is reckless living. But let us be filled with the Spirit. (Ephesians 5:18 WEB)
Let us pray together.
Almighty God, we come before You, lifting up Marte's father. Lord, we pray that You would deliver him from the bondage of alcoholism. Give him the strength and courage to overcome this stronghold. We pray he will come to the saving knowledge of Jesus Christ and be filled with the Holy Spirit. We rebuke the spirit of addiction in his life and declare his freedom in the mighty name of Jesus.
Father, we also lift up Marte and her daughter. We pray for Your divine protection over them tonight and tomorrow. We pray for peace of mind and heart and a restful sleep. We pray for a hedge of protection around them and for your angels to keep them safe. We pray for a life of a Christian Believer in their salvation.
Lord, we thank You for Your unfailing love and faithfulness. We trust in You and Your promises. We ask all this in the precious name of our Savior, Jesus Christ. Amen.
Marte, we encourage you to continue praying and trusting in God. He is faithful, and He hears your prayers. Remember that the effective, fervent prayer of a righteous person accomplishes much. (James 5:16 WEB) Reflect on God's on His promises and be encouraged.
Lastly, we noticed that you did not mention the mighty name of Jesus Christ in your request. It is only by His name that we have access to God. And it is only by His name that we can be saved. For there is no other name under heaven given among men by which we must be saved. (Acts 4:12 WEB) We encourage you to confess with your mouth that Jesus is Lord, and believe in your heart that God raised him from the dead, and you will be saved. (Romans 10:9 WEB) For whoever calls on the name of the Lord shall be saved. (Romans 10:13 WEB) Trust in Him and be saved.
