Doubt

Someone just told me that if I doubt then God won't heal me? I have no doubt at all that God can heal as I know nothing is impossible for Him and I had such faith to be healed but after six years of praying for me and my sister ### to be healed but instead we are getting worse and have had one trial after the other so I have to confess doubt and fear do creep in. Father God please forgive me for not trusting you as I should and for letting in doubt and fear I ask you give me the gift of faith as Jesus is the author and finisher of our faith and has prayed that our faith would not fail. I am just worn out by the many trials and seeing my sister ### unwell has frightened me. Oh please Father God in your anger Lord remember mercy. I pray for your peace and love which passes all understanding and reassurance that you have happier times planned for me and ###. I pray for everyone on this forum who are worried about loved ones. Please answer our prayers In the name of Jesus by whose stripes we are healed. Amen

Elizabeth, we understand your struggle and we are here to pray with you and provide biblical encouragement. First, let's address the issue of doubt. It's important to remember that doubt is not the absence of faith, but rather a part of the journey to stronger faith. Even some of the greatest biblical figures experienced doubt, like John the Baptist.

“Are you the one who is to come, or shall we look for another?” Luke 7:19 WEB

Jesus did not condemn John for his doubt, but rather encouraged him through the works He was doing. Therefore it is incorrect that God will not heal you because you may doubt. God wants you to come to Him and strengthen your faith, even when you are doubting and hurting.

God also reassures us in His Word:

“But let him ask in faith, without any doubting, for he who doubts is like a wave of the sea, driven by the wind and tossed. For let that person not think that he will receive anything from the Lord. He is a double-minded man, unstable in all his ways.” James 1:6-8 WEB.

Elizabeth it seems like you are confessing your doubt and turning towards God. It takes faith to do what you are doing, to have hope that God can heal, and to bring all your worries to God. You have already confessed your faith that nothing is impossible for God.

God assures us:

“But Jesus was saying, Father, forgive them, for they don't know what they are doing.” Luke 23:34 WEB

Jesus prayed this even as He was on the cross. God sees your heart and your situation. We pray that He finds no sin in you but rather forgives you for what may be lacking. We pray you hold onto His promise for you.

“He heals the broken-hearted, and binds up their wounds.” Psalm 147:3 WEB

God sees His people hurting and in pain and wants to relieve you of this pain. Let's pray together.

Almighty Father, we come before You, lifting up ### and her sister ###. Lord, they have been battling with illness and doubt. We pray that You would strengthen their faith and remove all doubt and fear. You are the God of miracles, and we believe that nothing is impossible for You. Please touch their bodies, heal them, and restore their health. Give them Your peace that passes all understanding. Give them the graces of reassurance and hope. Lord, remember your promise that by the stripes of Jesus we are healed and apply this to their lives today. In Jesus name.

Elizabeth, we're here with you, believing in your faith and the power of God's healing. We know it's tough when things don't happen as quickly as we'd like, but remember, God's timing is always perfect. We're praying for you and Margaret, that God would touch you both and bring the healing you've been believing for. We claim His promise over your lives, that by His stripes, you are healed (Isaiah 53:5). Let's keep standing in faith, knowing that our God is faithful and will complete the good work He's started in you (Philippians 1:6).

Prayer Focus: God, Thank You for loving me. Thank You for loving me, Jesus. God, I ask You in Jesus’ name bless me with everything that I stand in need of and everything You want me to have. Bless me to know You in truth, fall in love with You with all my heart, soul, mind, and strength and never fall out of love with You. Lord, we pray for this prayer and family for blessings healing and salvation. Heal and bless. May their lives be a praise and glory unto thee.
Come to the Lord's holy presence. Seek him with all your heart. Cling to his Word and meditate on it moment by moment by positive thoughts and joy in the heart (James 1:2-4), knowing that the Lord is good and to him be all the praise. Seek first God's kingdom and his righteousness (Matthew 6:33). Even though life may feel hard, the Lord's hand will be on you, and he will answer in his time. I am praying for you. Amen.

We are truly grateful that you shared your burden with us and allowed us to pray alongside you. We want you to know that it's normal to feel doubt and fear, especially after long periods of trial. Remember, even the apostles had times of doubt and Jesus himself understood and addressed these feelings in his closest friends. The feelings you have do not negate your overall stand of faith in God's power to heal. It is okay to have honest questioning before God.

Please update us on your situation. If you have seen any signs of God's intervention, we would love to hear about it so we can rejoice with you. Even if it's just a small improvement or a sense of peace amidst the storm, it's a blessing worth sharing. If your request is as of yet unanswered, do please feel welcome to post it again. Perseverance in prayer is key so do not feel disheartened. We are still very much here for you in prayer. Let us stand in agreement for God to strengthen your faith and diminish fear and anxiety.
