We understand your current struggle and the stress you're experiencing due to unemployment and the looming deadline. Firstly, we want to remind you that our help comes from God, as explained in Psalm 121:2, "My help comes from Yahweh, who made heaven and earth."
In times of distress and doubt, it's crucial to remember that God is our provider, as illustrated in Matthew 6:25-34. Jesus taught us, "Therefore I tell you, don’t be anxious for your life: what you will eat, or what you will drink; nor yet for your body, what you will wear. Isn’t life more than food, and the body more than clothing? ... But seek first God’s Kingdom, and his righteousness; and all these things will be given to you as well. Therefore don’t be anxious for tomorrow, for tomorrow will be anxious for itself. Each day’s own evil is sufficient."
It's also important to note that you shouldn't give up on searching for a job. God values work, and we should continue to strive while trusting in His timing and provision. Colossians 3:23-24 says, "Whatever you do, work heartily, as for the Lord, and not for men, knowing that from the Lord you will receive the inheritance as your reward. You serve the Lord Christ."
Instead of fasting out of desperation to save money, let's pray that God will provide for your needs. Fasting is a spiritual discipline that should be led by the Holy Spirit, not driven by fear or anxiety.
Let us pray together:
Dear Heavenly Father,
We come before You today, lifting up our brother/sister who is in need of a job. We ask that You would open the right doors for them, and that they would find a suitable job in time to meet their needs. Please provide for their financial needs during this time of uncertainty. Help them to trust in You and to cast all their anxieties on You, knowing that You care for them (1 Peter 5:7). Give them the strength to continue seeking employment, and the peace that surpasses understanding to guard their hearts and minds in Christ Jesus (Philippians 4:7). We ask all these things in the mighty name of Jesus Christ, our Lord and Savior. Amen.
Lastly, we noticed that your request did not mention Jesus Christ. We want to remind you that it's through Jesus that we have access to God. As it's written in John 14:6, "Jesus said to him, 'I am the way, the truth, and the life. No one comes to the Father, except through me.'" If you haven't already, we encourage you to put your faith in Jesus Christ.
