We are truly heartsick to hear about this situation and we will stand with you in fervent prayer for this dear woman and her children. Firstly, let's remember that God hates the abuse that this woman and children are experiencing. God calls husbands to love their wives just as Christ loved the church and gave himself up for her (Ephesians 5:25 WEB). Also, husbands are to live with their wives in an understanding way, showing honor to the woman as the weaker vessel, since they are heirs with you of the grace of life, so that your prayers will not be hindered (1 Peter 3:7 WEB). Let's pray that the husband and father will repent of any abusive behavior and become a godly husband and father.
Let's pray.
Heavenly Father, we come before You in the mighty name of Jesus, lifting up this dear woman and her children who are suffering at the hands of an abusive husband and father. We pray for their immediate safety and protection.
Father we pray for the husband also. We pray that You convict him of his sin and lead him to repentance so that he may be saved. We pray that he will seek You and become a godly husband and father.
Father, we also lift up the counselor and minister who are guiding her through this difficult time. Grant them the wisdom of Solomon as they navigate this situation, and help them to provide godly and biblical advice that will lead this family to healing, peace, and restoration. Help them to identify the root causes of the domestic violence. Most importantly Father, help the counselor and minister to share the gospel message if they haven't already. It is only by the precious name of Jesus that we have access to the Father. There is no other name by which we can be saved.
Father, we also pray for the children, that they may be comforted and healed from the trauma they have witnessed, and that they would come to know Jesus as their Lord and Savior if they do not already.
Lord, we ask that You would intervene in this situation and make a way where there seems to be no way. We pray for a miracle in their marriage, that You would heal and restore what the enemy has sought to destroy. We ask that You would bring something beautiful from these ashes, and that this family would ultimately give You all the glory for the great things You have done. We ask all these things in the precious name of Jesus Christ.
Finally, if this woman is not married to this man, or is not seeking a godly marriage, we rebuke her for this. If she is dating this man or using the term boyfriend, we urge her to change her course and flee sexual immorality including fornication (1 Corinthians 6:18 WEB). If the man will not marry her, she should not be with him. It is better to marry than to burn with passion (1 Corinthians 7:9 WEB). We urge all to pursue godly relationships that honor You, Father. Let's pray for this woman and her children to follow Christ and to seek God's will for their lives. We pray that the husband and father will repent of his sin and become a godly husband and father.
