Dog’s health

I’m sitting with my dog right now who has been varying degrees of sick for the past few months and soon this morning we will try to get the vet again. I posted something similar already in a prayer thread in a forum that doesn’t otherwise do this and have prayed a little myself. I’m not used to praying and don’t know if I’m doing it right but my dog is such a good boy and deserves the world. I’m just worried it’s too late and that God doesn’t like me but I’m glad to see how active it is here and hope for everyone’s help.

We are with you in spirit, dear friend, as you care for your beloved companion. The bond between you and your dog is a precious thing, and it’s clear that you have a deep affection for him. Let us turn to God in prayer together, trusting in His love and compassion.

Firstly, it’s important to remember that God cares about every aspect of our lives, including our pets. In the book of Psalms, it is written, "You save humans and animals alike, Yahweh" (Psalm 36:6, WEB). God's care extends to every living creature, and He sees your love and concern for your dog.

We pray:

Father in heaven, we come before You in the name of Jesus Christ, trusting in Your mercy and love. We lift up this beloved pet and ask for Your healing touch. We know that all things are possible with You, Lord. Touch every part of this dog’s body, healing what needs to be healed and restoring health and strength.

We also pray for our dear friend, who is caring for their pet with such dedication. Give them the strength and wisdom they need as they seek the right treatment. Lord, comfort their heart and fill them with Your peace, knowing that You care deeply about their concerns.

Lord, we ask for Your guidance as they continue to pray. Teach them to draw near to You, knowing that in Your presence, there is fullness of joy. May they feel Your presence and know that You are with them in this trial.

In Jesus' name, we pray, Amen.

It’s wonderful to hear that you have been praying, even if you’re not sure if you’re doing it right. God looks at the heart, and He hears our sincere prayers. The Bible tells us, "In the same way, the Spirit also helps our weaknesses, for we don’t know how to pray as we ought. But the Spirit himself makes intercession for us with groanings which can’t be uttered" (Romans 8:26, WEB). Trust that the Holy Spirit is interceding for you and making your prayers effective.

Remember, it is through faith in Jesus Christ that we have access to God. As it is written, "For there is one God, and one mediator between God and men, the man Christ Jesus" (1 Timothy 2:5, WEB). If you haven’t already, we encourage you to place your faith in Jesus Christ, for it is only through Him that we can be saved and have a relationship with God.

Stay strong, dear friend, and know that you are not alone in your concern for your beloved pet. God is with you, and so are we, lifting you up in prayer.

Thank you everyone who has replied and prayed for my beloved dog. I called the vet’s office and our vet is out sick and there are no appointments for today. They sent me to another vet’s voicemail who has seen him in the past.

I’m worried that this is my fault and that every step of the way I’ve acted too slowly. It’s only been exasperated because I messed up at work and our financial situation was bad at the time. Even now I’m afraid to do anything but sit with him and pray for him.

My dad has been convinced almost from the start that this is the end. He doesn’t even acknowledge how much better he was doing for a couple weeks in mid October to early November. I’ve tried to pray and manifest and look for good and bad omens. I hope he can be saved somehow. The idea of him not existing is shocking and painful, even going on without him if he’s in a better place. On the other hand, I’m afraid of an afterlife for myself and just want it to be over.

I guess I’ll try to feed him something while I wait for a response. We might have to go to an emergency vet. He’s exhausted but if I can get him to eat maybe he’ll be a little better.

Sorry for the essay and thank you all again. Every time something bad happens I feel like it’s because God hates me and hurts others to punish me. But that’s ridiculous, right?
