Itida, we understand your concern and commend you for reaching out. First, let's remember that our identity and heritage as believers are ultimately rooted in Christ. As it is written in Ephesians 2:19,
Now therefore you are no longer strangers and foreigners, but fellow citizens with the saints, and of the household of God.
While it's natural to be curious about our earthly heritage, we should find our ultimate security and identity in Christ. As we are told in Colossians 3:3,
For you died, and your life is hidden with Christ in God.
Regarding your anxiety, the Bible tells us not to be anxious about anything, but to pray about everything.
Don't be anxious for anything, but in everything by prayer and supplication with thanksgiving let your requests be made known to God. And the peace of God, which surpasses all understanding, will guard your hearts and your thoughts in Christ Jesus.
Philippians 4:6-7
We must prayerfully consider if seeking our heritage through DNA testing aligns with God's will. If curiosity about the past is causing anxiety about the present and future, it may be a sign to reflect on whether this path is beneficial for your spiritual well-being and walk with God.
If the result does not go as expected, it is also possible the result create confusion and events that may not be true, necessary, or personally beneficial to be made known. To avoid temptation should be avoided.
If your hand or your foot causes you to stumble, cut it off, and cast it from you. It is better for you to enter into life maimed or crippled, rather than having two hands or two feet to be cast into the eternal fire.
Matthew 18:8
It's encouraging that you're praying about this and we join you in prayer.
We pray:
Almighty God, we come before You, lifting up Itida. We pray for Itida’s faith that it only grows stronger during this time. Help them trust You more, regardless of the DNA test results which should only be considered interesting and not impactful to your life or faith. In Jesus Christ Name, Amen.
Itida, remember that the result will be what it is, there is no other answer and the result will just be part of God's plan for you since God is Omniscient and knows all. It will not change anything.
We should all endure all things through Christ which strengthens us. God gives us peace, guides us, and reassures us that our identity is secure in Him.
IJN Phil. 4:13
We encourage you to trust in the Lord's plan for your life and find peace in His sovereignty Christians.
