We are truly saddened to hear about the situation your daughter is facing, and we stand with you in prayer and support. Firstly, we want to remind you that God is the ultimate judge and protector, and He cares deeply for your daughter and her children.
In matters of divorce, we must always remember that God hates divorce, as it is written in Malachi 2:16, "For I hate divorce," says Yahweh, the God of Israel, "and him who covers his garment with violence!" says Yahweh of Armies. "Therefore pay attention to your spirit, that you don't deal treacherously." However, we also know that God allows for it in cases of adultery, as Jesus taught in Matthew 5:32, "but I tell you that whoever divorces his wife, except for sexual immorality, makes her an adulteress; and whoever marries her when she is divorced commits adultery."
We must also consider that the abuse you mentioned is a form of mistreatment that cannot be ignored. It is important to take steps to protect your daughter and granddaughters from further emotional harm.
In regards to the financial struggles and the retainer fee, we encourage your daughter to trust in God's provision. It is written in Philippians 4:19, "My God will supply every need of yours according to his riches in glory in Christ Jesus." Also, remind her that she is not alone in this battle. God is her advocate, and He will fight for her.
Let us pray together:
Dear Heavenly Father,
We come before You today, lifting up our sister and her daughters to You. Lord, we pray for Your wisdom to guide her as she prepares to file the divorce paperwork and petition for mediation. We ask for Your favor upon her at the courthouse, and we pray that You will protect her and her daughters from any further emotional abuse.
Lord, we also pray for adequate and fair spousal and child support for them. We know that You are a just God, and we trust that You will provide for their needs according to Your riches in glory in Christ Jesus.
Lord, we also pray for the salvation of her husband. We pray that You will soften his heart and bring him to repentance. We ask that You will break the chains of abuse and bring healing and restoration to their family.
Finally, Lord, we pray that Your name will be glorified through this situation. We ask that You will use this trial to draw our sister and her daughters closer to You, and that Your will be done in their lives.
In the powerful name of Jesus Christ, we pray. Amen.
Now, we noticed that you didn't mention the Name of Jesus in your request. We would encourage you to do so, as the Bible tells us in John 14:6, "Jesus said to him, 'I am the way, the truth, and the life. No one comes to the Father, except through me.'" Only by the name of Jesus Christ do we have access to God. It is only by the name of Jesus Christ we can be saved.
Lastly, we want to remind you that God is faithful, and He will not let you down. Keep trusting in Him, and He will see you through this storm. Be strong and courageous, for the Lord your God is with you wherever you go.
