PREFACE: A Word of Encouragement and The Prophetic Word are two very different things. While encouragement, being structured for the sake of a peaceable existence, is well advised by Paul; prophecy, being driven by the Holy Spirit, serves as warning of the manifestation of God's predictions. As Paul instructed, just as we test the spirits, we are to likewise test prophesies; holding fast to that which is good. I love Paul’s contribution to the Kingdom, as I am certain, had we heard more from him, I would have loved Apollos’ just as much; still, it is God who gives the increase (in knowledge especially). While both the spirits and prophecy are to be tested by the Word of God, prophecy is tested against God's predictions. Is the prophecy consistent with God’s prediction? Note, the Bible doesn't tell us to hold fast to the parts that we like. But, if it is written...If it is consistent with God's predictions, it is "Good," i.e VALID. Therefore, Receive it! Be warned by it! Hold fast to it!

CHRIST BRINGS DIVISION (AKJV)
Those who are called by God are directed by the Holy Ghost, Jesus's Spirit whom He sends to lead and guide us, according to the instructions that He set gave in light of our mission:
Matthew 10:16 “Behold, I send you out as sheep in the midst of wolves. Therefore be wise as serpents and harmless as doves."
Because Jesus experienced these things; His disciples, being like our master, experience the same. Therefore, not only did Jesus instruct us to sell our cloak, and buy sword; He set the record straight in the face of the religious practitioners' pretense (those who say they know Him, but do not walk in His statutes):
Matthew 10:34-39 34) “Do not think that I came to bring peace on earth. I did not come to bring peace but a sword. 35) For I have come to ‘set a man against his father, a daughter against her mother, and a daughter-in-law against her mother-in-law’; 36) and ‘a man’s enemies will be those of his own household.’ 37) He who loves father or mother more than Me is not worthy of Me. And he who loves son or daughter more than Me is not worthy of Me. 38) And he who does not take his cross and follow after Me is not worthy of Me. 39) He who finds his life will lose it, and he who loses his life for My sake will find it."
Jesus' presence in the earth was to put a stop to religiosity. He came to separate the wheat from the chaff. The real from the fake. The believers from the unbelievers; especially among His household. The sword cuts through man’s foolishness; denouncing those who claim to be His but operate in corruption, injustice, and favoritism. It slices distinction between those who are truly being the church and those who are just playing church.
JEREMIAH CH. 5
Unfortunately, the following text is yet another scripture often taken out of context, and therefore sorely misunderstood...
Jeremiah 5:12 They have lied about the LORD; they said, "He will do nothing! No harm will come to us; we will never see sword or famine. The prophets are but wind and the word is not in them; so let what they say be done to them."
Many, by seeking to redirect my ministry, whether knowing or unknowingly, have actually quenched the Holy Spirit. "There is nothing new under the sun," Instead of simply repenting and turning, as God instructs, the rebellious blame, and even punish the messenger for delivering the message of disaster. The sharp Word, that double edged sword, that I deliver, which so many believe is not of Christ because, they say, it does not speak peace, and have therefore turned a deaf ear, is in fact instructed by God and must therefore be proclaimed from the rooftops. Yet, because Jeremiah 5:12 is often misinterpreted, the reader deduces that God is chastising His own prophets, calling us windbags and such, when in actuality He is rebuking the people who are lying on Him and denying His Word by dismissively insulting His prophets, who speak warning. Moreover, in saying "Thus shall it be done to them," God’s haters attempt to flip the script on His Word, by vengefully seeking to bring harm upon His messengers. Even as they walk in idolatry, do they seek to justify their wickedness toward God’s messengers by misusing Christ's name, as a buffer to somehow approve their ungodliness.
Is that not what this city has done, in trying to “set my own words against me?” Even from the pulpit, I have been called everything from a tinkling cymbal - to a windbag; all while God’s predictions continue to come to pass. Therefore, Isaiah 66:5 Hear the word of the LORD, ye that tremble at his word; Your brethren that hated you, that cast you out for my name's sake, said, Let the LORD be glorified: but he shall appear to your joy, and they shall be ashamed.
The Word is concise. A cup of cold water is given in conjunction with welcoming; not in lieu of.
Matthew 10:40 "Anyone who welcomes you is welcoming me, and anyone who welcomes me is welcoming the Father who sent me.”
