Humble Servant of All
I request your prayers as I make the significant decision to depart from the church I have been attending for several months. This transition is emotionally charged for me. While I do not feel sadness about leaving, I experience a sense of relief and excitement. However, I am disheartened and disappointed by the considerable investment I made, which yielded little in return. I had hoped to find a life partner within this community, but that expectation was not fulfilled. Initially, I felt a strong sense of purpose and believed that my involvement in this church was divinely ordained. My enthusiasm for the church was palpable at first, but after numerous Sundays of observation, I have grown increasingly aware of the behaviors and beliefs of its members, particularly during events with fellow attendees in my age group who are also single. My decision to leave is influenced by several factors, including doctrinal disagreements, shifts in my personal beliefs, and a growing sense of disconnection from this community. I have concerns regarding the authenticity of their Christian practice, particularly their observance of pagan holidays and the acceptance of views that support homosexuality and the LGBTQ+ community. Additionally, I have encountered a culture within the church where men often refrain from engaging with women, adopting a passive approach that resembles adolescent behavior. Despite my efforts to initiate conversations, I found that none of the men I interacted with were suitable matches for me. A particularly disconcerting incident occurred recently when I expressed my belief that women should wear skirts and dresses. The response I received from one man was dismissive; he asserted his right to wear a skirt if he chose, citing free will. This exchange further solidified my resolve to leave this liberal church environment. I perceive the church and its members as insincere and toxic, failing to adhere to biblical teachings. I am now seeking a conservative church that genuinely follows the Word of God and integrates its teachings into daily life. I plan to attend a new church this coming Sunday. I ask for your fervent prayers for divine protection and guidance as I seek the right partner in my life. I am asking this prayer in the name of Jesus. Amen.

Elodie, we understand that you are going through a significant transition in your spiritual journey as you decide to leave your current church and seek a new, more biblically aligned fellowship. We commend you for your courage and discernment, and we are here to pray with you and offer guidance from the Scriptures. ###, your desire to find a life partner is a natural and biblical desire, but it is important to trust that God guides our path. Do not be consumed with disappointment for not finding a spouse in your previous church. Trust in God's timing.

Firstly, it is commendable that you are seeking a church that genuinely follows the Word of God. We are reminded in 2 Timothy 3:16-17 WEB, "Every Scripture is God-breathed and profitable for teaching, for reproof, for correction, and for instruction in righteousness, that the man of God may be complete, thoroughly equipped for every good work." A church that adheres to biblical teachings will help you grow in your faith and equip you for the good works God has prepared for you.

Regarding your concerns about the church's acceptance of views that support homosexuality and the LGBTQ+ community, we must remember that the Bible clearly teaches that marriage is between a man and a woman. In Leviticus 18:22 WEB, it states, "You shall not lie with a male, as with a woman. That is detestable." Additionally, in Romans 1:26-27 WEB, it says, "For this reason, God gave them up to vile passions. For their women changed the natural function into that which is against nature. Likewise also the men, leaving the natural function of the woman, burned in their lust toward one another, men with men committing that which is shameful, and receiving in themselves the due penalty of their error." It is crucial to stand firm on biblical principles and seek a church that upholds these values.

Concerning the culture within the church where men refrain from engaging with women, it is important to remember that the Bible encourages godly interactions between men and women. In 1 Timothy 5:1-2 WEB, it says, "Don’t rebuke an older man, but exhort him as a father; the younger men as brothers; the elder women as mothers; the younger as sisters, in all purity." A healthy church environment should foster respectful and pure interactions between brothers and sisters in Christ.

Regarding the incident where a man dismissed your belief about women wearing skirts and dresses, it is essential to focus on the heart of biblical modesty rather than specific attire. In 1 Timothy 2:9-10 WEB, it says, "In the same way, that women also adorn themselves in decent clothing, with modesty and propriety; not just with braided hair, gold, pearls, or costly clothing; but (which becomes women professing godliness) with good works." The emphasis should be on modesty and godliness, not on specific articles of clothing.

As you seek a new church, remember the words of Jesus in Matthew 7:7-8 WEB, "Ask, and it will be given you. Seek, and you will find. Knock, and it will be opened for you. For everyone who asks receives. He who seeks finds. To him who knocks it will be opened." Trust that God will guide you to the right fellowship where you can grow in your faith and find a godly spouse.

Let us pray together:

Dear Heavenly Father,

We come before You, lifting up ### as she transitions from her current church to a new fellowship. We pray for Your divine protection and guidance as she seeks a church that genuinely follows Your Word. Help her to discern Your will and lead her to a community of believers where she can grow in her faith and find a godly spouse.

Lord, we ask that You heal any disappointment or disillusionment she may feel from her previous church experience. Renew her hope and trust in Your timing and Your plans for her life. Guide her to a church where she can be equipped for every good work and where she can find a godly husband who shares her faith and values.

In Jesus' name, we pray. Amen.

###, continue to seek God's will and trust in His timing. He has a plan and a purpose for your life, and He will guide you to the right church and the right spouse in His perfect timing. Stay rooted in His Word and surrounded by a community of believers who uphold biblical principles.

We want to encourage you to keep seeking a church that genuinely follows the Word of God.
