Elodie

Humble Servant of All
I have been attending a particular church for several months, yet I have not experienced any meaningful outcomes from my involvement. The men in this congregation appear to exhibit a sense of superiority, often displaying narcissistic traits and a sense of entitlement. My observations suggest a distinct power imbalance between the genders. Additionally, the men are occasionally instructed in separate sessions, which seems to reinforce their entitled and narcissistic attitudes, leading to a lack of genuine appreciation for women. It appears that these men are uncertain about their desires and tend to wait for women to initiate conversations, rather than approaching them themselves. Initially, I believed that the church's services, tailored for various age groups, would facilitate timely connections. While the church organizes events for different demographics, I have come to realize that these gatherings do not foster meaningful relationships. The intended purpose of these events is not fulfilled, as interactions between the genders do not extend beyond the church setting, hindering the potential for romantic connections. I find myself at a crossroads, contemplating whether to continue my attendance at this church or seek an alternative. My desire to meet a single Christian man remains unfulfilled, and I am seeking earnest prayers to guide my decision. Although other churches may lack similar singles events, I am not encountering suitable prospects for marriage here, and I cannot afford to continue investing my time without results. I am asking this prayer in the name of Jesus.

Elodie, we understand your concerns and will pray with you and examine the concerns raised in your prayer request and commentary. Let us first address the issues you've observed in your church. We must remember that God calls us to humility and unity in the body of Christ. The Bible tells us, "Be kindly affectioned one to another with brotherly love; in honor preferring one another" Romans 12:10 (WEB). The behavior you've witnessed among the men in your congregation does not align with this scripture.

We must also remember that God calls us to be equals in Christ. We are all different parts of the same body in Christ. We need to address the issue of a gender-based power imbalance. The Bible tells us, "There is neither Jew nor Greek, there is neither slave nor free man, there is neither male nor female; for you are all one in Christ Jesus" Galatians 3:28 (WEB).

It is concerning that the men in your congregation seem to lack initiative in pursuing relationships and expect the women to approach them. This is not a biblical model for relationships. The Bible tells us, "Husbands, love your wives, even as Christ also loved the assembly, and gave himself up for it" Ephesians 5:25 (WEB).

Regarding your desire to meet a single Christian man for marriage, we encourage you to trust in God's timing and plan. It is good and right to desire a godly spouse, but we must also remember that God's ways are not our ways. The Bible tells us, "For my thoughts are not your thoughts, neither are your ways my ways, says Yahweh. For as the heavens are higher than the earth, so are my ways higher than your ways, and my thoughts than your thoughts"Isaiah 55:8-9 (WEB).

Let us pray together:

Dear Heavenly Father,

We come before you today to lift up our sister in Christ, Elodie. Lord, we pray for your guidance in her life, especially regarding her involvement in her current church and her desire for a godly spouse.

Father, we ask that you would convict the hearts of the men in her congregation. Reveal to them any pride or sense of entitlement that does not come from you. Teach them humility, love, and respect for their sisters in Christ. Help them to understand their role as initiators and leaders in relationships, as you have called them to be.

Lord, we trust in your timetable for Elodie's life. They are waiting on your timing for a spouse, but they must be willing to pursue a spouse and not expect the other to come to them. Please give her patience and peace as she waits on you. Guide her steps and show her if you want her to be still or if you want her to move churches for her to find a spouse. We ask this in the mighty name of Jesus Christ.

Finally, Lord, we pray for your will to be done in Elodie's life. Reveal to her your plan for her involvement in her church and her desire for a spouse. Give her the wisdom and discernment to follow your leading. In Jesus' name, we pray. Amen.

Elodie was very careful to never mention the name of Jesus Christ in your request. There is no other name by which we can be saved and no other way to access God the Father. Please see the following verses.

John 14:6 "Jesus said to him, I am the way, the truth, and the life. No one comes to the Father except through me."

Romans 10:13 "For everyone who calls on the name of the Lord will be saved."

Acts 4:12 "There is salvation in no one else, for there is no other name under heaven that is given among men, by which we must be saved!"

Ephesians 2:18 "For through him we both have our access in one Spirit to the Father"

Jesus Christ is the only way to access God the Father. It is by his name and by his blood that we may be saved.

Elodie, you did not mention if you are a born again Christian believer. If you have not done so already, we would recommend that you repent of your sins and accept Jesus Christ as your Lord and Savior.

Hey Elodie, we've been thinking about your situation and wanted to reach out again. We understand that you're feeling a bit stuck and unsure about your church involvement and your desire to meet someone special. We want to encourage you, first and foremost, to trust in God's plan for your life. He sees you, He knows your heart, and He wants the best for you.

We've been praying for you, asking God to give you clarity and wisdom in this time of decision. We believe that God has a purpose and a plan for you, and we trust that He will guide your steps. Remember, God's ways are not our ways, and His timing is perfect. Even if it feels like things aren't happening as quickly or in the way you expected, we know that God is working behind the scenes.

We also want to remind you of God's love for you. You are deeply loved and cherished by Him. Your worth and value are not determined by your circumstances or the people around you. You are a daughter of the King, and He delights in you.

As for your church situation, we understand that it can be challenging when you don't see the outcomes you hope for. We encourage you to keep seeking God's heart in this. If you feel led to continue attending your current church, we pray that God would use you there to bless and encourage others. If you feel led to explore other churches, we pray that God would guide your steps and lead you to a place where you can grow and serve.

We're here for you, Elodie. Please know that you're not alone in this. We're praying for you, and we're believing with you for God's best in your life. Keep trusting, keep seeking, and keep loving. God sees you, and He's got this. In Jesus' name, we pray. Amen.

Lord, we pray for this prayer and family for blessings healing and salvation. Heal and bless. May their lives be a praise and glory unto thee.
Come to the Lord's holy presence. Seek him with all your heart. Cling to his Word and meditate on it moment by moment by positive thoughts and joy in the heart (James 1:2-4), knowing that the Lord is good and to him be all the praise. Seek first God's kingdom and his righteousness (Matthew 6:33). Even though life may feel hard, the Lord's hand will be on you, and he will answer in his time. I am praying for you. Amen.
