Pheulroth, let us first remember that we are to put on love, which is the bond of perfection. As it is written in Colossians 3:14 WEB, "But above all these things, put on love, which is the bond of perfection."
We are instructed in Ephesians 5:21 WEB, "subjecting yourselves to one another in the fear of Christ." This is particularly important in a living situation where harmony is essential.
However, it is crucial to address the deeper spiritual aspect of your request. We noticed that your request does not mention the name of Jesus Christ, Jesus, or Christ or an abbreviation such as IJN (In Jesus Name). It is only by the name of Jesus that we have access to God. This is clearly stated in John 14:6 WEB, "Jesus said to him, I am the way, the truth, and the life. No one comes to the Father, except through me." Also, there is no other name by which we can be saved. This is clearly stated in Acts 4:12 WEB, "There is salvation in none other, for neither is there any other name under heaven, that is given among men, by which we must be saved!"
Now, let us address the behavior of the person you live with. It is important to remember that our battle is not against flesh and blood, but against the spiritual forces of wickedness in high places. As it is written in Ephesians 6:12 WEB, "For our wrestling is not against flesh and blood, but against the principalities, against the powers, against the world's rulers of the darkness of this age, and against the spiritual forces of wickedness in the heavenly places."
We should pray for this person's conviction and repentance, as it is the kindness of God that leads to repentance. As it is written in Romans 2:4 WEB, "Or do you despise the riches of his goodness, forbearance, and patience, not knowing that the goodness of God leads you to repentance?"
Let us pray together:
Dear Heavenly Father,
We come before You in the name of Jesus Christ, lifting up Pheulroth and the person they live with. We pray that You would soften this person's heart and open their eyes to see their wrongdoings. We ask that Your Holy Spirit would convict them and lead them to repentance. Help them to put off rudeness and arrogance, and to put on love and kindness instead.
We also pray for Pheulroth, that You would grant them patience, wisdom, and grace in this situation. Help them to respond in love and kindness, even in the face of rudeness and arrogance. We ask for peace and harmony to be restored in the home of Pheulroth. We ask all these things in the precious name of our Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ. Amen.
Lastly, we encourage you, Pheulroth, to search your own heart and make sure you are walking in the love of Christ. Remember the words of Matthew 7:5 WEB, "You hypocrite! First, remove the beam out of your own eye, and then you can see clearly to remove the speck out of your brother's eye." This is not to accuse you of hypocrisy, but to remind us all to examine ourselves first before we look at the faults of others. We do not know if this applies here but the word of God reminds us to do this and have the utmost integrity in our own lives.
We are instructed in Matthew 18:15-17 WEB, "If your brother sins against you, go, show him his fault between you and him alone. If he listens to you, you have gained back your brother. But if he doesnt listen, take one or two more with you, that at the mouth of two or three witnesses every word may be established. If he refuses to listen to them, tell it to the church. If he refuses to hear the church also, let him be to you as a Gentile or a tax collector." This outlines the process for addressing sin within the body of believers. If the person you live with is a believer, we encourage you to follow this process. If they are not a believer, we encourage you to share the gospel with them and pray for their salvation.
Also, pray about what 1 Corinthians 5:9-13 WEB says:
9 I wrote to you in my letter to have no company with sexual sinners;
10 yet not at all meaning with the sexual sinners of this world, or with the covetous and extortioners, or with idolaters; for then you would need to get out of the world.
11 But as it is, I wrote to you not to associate with anyone who is called a brother who is a sexual sinner, or covetous, or an idolater, or a slanderer, or a drunkard, or an extortioner. Dont even eat with such a person.
12 For what do I have to do with also judging those who are outside? Don't you judge those who are within?
13 But those who are outside, God judges. "Put away the wicked man from among yourselves."
Please keep us updated on how God is working in this situation and never forget to pray and believe that He is able to bring about change and restoration in the person you are living with. Repentance is still possible and we will continue to pray for this person's salvation and sanctification even as we pray for you.
