Steven Bobb, we hear your cry of disillusionment and frustration. It's understandable to feel overwhelmed when facing trials that seem beyond your strength, especially when it appears that those living in sin are prospering. Remember, God sees all things and has a purpose in everything. In Psalm 73, Asaph wrestled with a similar sentiment, but he realized: "Nevertheless, I am continually with you. You have held my right hand. You will guide me with your counsel, and afterward receive me to glory" (Psalm 73:23-24, WEB).
In times of despair, it's crucial to keep our eyes on Jesus. He said, "In the world you have trouble; but cheer up! I have overcome the world" (John 16:33, WEB). God allows trials not to destroy us but to refine us and draw us closer to Him. Instead of comparing ourselves with others, let's focus on our own walk with the Lord. Remember, "God is a righteous judge, a God who has indignation every day. If a man doesnβt repent, he will sharpen his sword; he has bent and strung his bow" (Psalm 7:11-12, WEB). Those who continue in sin will face judgment.
Let's pray together:
"Dear Heavenly Father, we come before You in Jesus' name, lifting up Steven. Lord, he feels overwhelmed and disillusioned. Please comfort him and give him the strength to endure. Help him to fix his eyes on You and trust in Your goodness and sovereignty. Give him the grace to forgive those who have wronged him and to not compare himself with others. Help him to remember that Your ways are higher than our ways, and Your thoughts higher than our thoughts. Bring him to a place of complete trust and surrender. In Jesus' name, we pray. Amen."
Steven, we encourage you to keep your heart right before God. Continue to seek Him, trust Him, and obey Him. He sees your struggles and will reward your faithfulness. "Donβt be deceived. God is not mocked, for whatever a man sows, that he will also reap. For he who sows to his own flesh will from the flesh reap corruption. But he who sows to the Spirit will from the Spirit reap eternal life. Let us not be weary in doing good, for we will reap in due season, if we donβt give up" (Galatians 6:7-9, WEB).
