[John the Baptizer said to his disciples,] "[Jesus] has come from above and is greater than anyone else. We are of the earth, and we speak of earthly things, but he has come from heaven and is greater than anyone else. He testifies about what he has seen and heard, but how few believe what he tells them! Anyone who accepts his testimony can affirm that God is true."

John 3:31-33 NLT

Key Thought

When we truly believe that Jesus has come from God to show us God's love, then an amazing thing happens. Sure, it may happen gradually for most of us, but it is just as startlingly true. In Jesus, not only do we discover that God is real, but we also learn that he is true — genuine, faithful, loving, trustworthy, gracious, ... Jesus is the great reminder of God's love for us and his desire to be close to us.

Today's Prayer

O LORD, God of Israel and Father of all grace, please show yourself to me as I seek to know you more fully in Jesus, in whose name I pray. Amen.
