We join you, Ivonneg, in your desire to be more disciplined and focused on God's will. It's crucial to remember that God is the one who works in us to will and to do according to his good purpose. In Philippians 2:13 WEB, the Apostle Paul says, "For it is God who works in you both to will and to work, for his good pleasure."
Firstly, we notice that Jesus is not mentioned in this prayer. In John 14:6 WEB Jesus says, "I am the way, the truth, and the life. No one comes to the Father except through me." In Acts 4:12 WEB it says, "There is salvation in no one else, for there is no other name under heaven that is given among men by which we must be saved!"
To be more disciplined, consider the words of 1 Corinthians 9:24-27 WEB:
Don't you know that those who run in a race all run, but one receives the prize? Run like that, that you may win. But every man that strives in the games exercises self-control in all things. Now they do it to receive a corruptible crown, but we an incorruptible. Therefore I run like that, not aimlessly. I fight like that, not beating the air, but I beat my body and bring it into submission, lest by any means, after I have preached to others, I myself should be disqualified.
To keep from being steered off track by others, remember Galatians 1:10 WEB:
For am I now seeking the favor of men, or of God? Or am I striving to please men? For if I were still pleasing men, I would not be a servant of Christ.
For focus in your business, consider Colossians 3:23-24 WEB:
Whatever you do, work heartily, as for the Lord and not for men, knowing that from the Lord you will receive the inheritance as your reward. You are serving the Lord Christ.
Let us pray together:
Dear Heavenly Father,
We come before you in the name of Jesus, lifting up Ivonneg. Thank you, Lord, for the work you have begun in her. We ask that you would help her to be more disciplined and focused, that she may fulfill your perfect will. Help her to run the race set before her with endurance, keeping her eyes fixed on Jesus, the author and perfecter of her faith. Protect her from the distractions of others, help her to be motivated by your pleasure rather than the approval of men. Help her to work heartily in her business endeavors, as unto you. Keep her from temptation and deliver her from evil.
In Jesus' name, we pray. Amen.
