THE WORKER DESERVES THEIR WAGES
(Attempting to go around God's instructions is cheating)

At the very least, the worker, whether disciple or prophet/prophetess deserves their wages: food (including water), clothing, and shelter, or whatever else is needed to further the ministry.

Luke 9:3-5 (NKJV)
³And He said to them, "Take nothing for the journey, neither staffs nor bag nor bread nor money; and do not have two tunics apiece. ⁴"Whatever house you enter, stay there, and from there depart. ⁵And whoever will not receive you, when you go out of that city, shake off the very dust from your feet as a testimony against them."

These things satisfy basic need, which is to be provided by the house that welcomes. Howbeit, prophets, through whose ministry reward is given, are to be honored.

While both disciples and prophets are followers of a Jesus, disciples primarily focus on learning and following, while prophets are messengers and teachers who speak God's word or receive divine revelations.

Disciples:
• Definition: A disciple is a follower or student of Jesus.
• Focus: Discipleship involves learning, imitating, and following the teachings and example of Jesus.
• Role: Disciples are seen as learners and practitioners of the teachings they are given.

Prophets:
• Definition: A prophet is someone who speaks for or is inspired by God, often conveying messages or warnings.
• Focus: Prophets are often seen as messengers of God, delivering divine messages or prophecies.
• Role: Prophets can foretell the future, interpret divine will, or call people to repentance

Whether operating under the initial instructions as a disciple, or under the extended instructions as a prophet, God's criteria, taught by Jesus, must be met. A prophet is not called to simply bless everybody, despite mistreatment, that's initial discipleship. Again, there must first be belief, which is honor to the prophet and reception of the prophecy. Wherever the prophet and prophecy are cast out, likewise cast out is the reward. 👉🏽

Jesus knew that not all of His disciples and prophets would be able to leave those cities and towns physically. He, therefore, warned us of the misuse and abuse that we would encounter as a result. Howbeit, because God will only endure so much hindrance, the Spirit moves on to reward other cities (symbolized by the shaking of the dust from our feet). No one can ever successfully sidestep God.

Jesus did not forgive the thief; He forgave the repentant thief. The other thief He told to go his way: which is not to heaven, when you're not following Christ.

End Note: Much of this written definition is a direct result of search engine return. Using discernment and testing all things through the Word of God, anyone can do an online search.

Have you ever heard anyone say derogatory stuff about “doctrine” or “the Bible being old fashioned” and say things like “all that stuff’s too hard to figure out,” or “we just need the simple gospel” or, talk about the word, Theology, like it is rat poison (Theology means The Study of God)...
