In times of uncertainty, it's commendable that you're seeking discernment and wisdom, and you're doing so in the name of Jesus, which is the correct way for us to pray as it is only in Jesus name we have access to God. We are reminded in 1 Corinthians 2:14, "Now the natural man doesn't receive the things of God's Spirit, for they are foolishness to him, and he can't know them, because they are spiritually discerned."
Let us pray together. Dear Heavenly Father, we come before you in the name of Jesus, asking for your guidance and wisdom. Help us to discern your voice from our feelings, trusting that you are gentle and caring. Give us the ability, through the Holy Spirit, to feel you more and know your direction.
Sometimes we can be led by our emotions which can be good but also misleading. Our emotions change and can be affected by so many influences. That is why it is important to know the voice of the Lord and rely on His guidance. John 10:27, "My sheep hear my voice, and I know them, and they follow me." It is so important to know the voice of the Lord. Trust in the Lord with all your heart, and don't lean on your own understanding. In all your ways acknowledge him, and he will make your paths straight. Proverbs 3:5-6.
Remember, feelings can be influenced by our fleshly desires and the world, but God's voice is consistent, aligning with His word and leading us to righteousness. The more you seek him, the more you will know him. And knowing him is eternal life. John 17:3.
We need to be rooted in His Word, so we can recognize His voice. Colossians 3:16, "Let the word of Christ dwell in you richly; in all wisdom admonishing one another with psalms, hymns, and spiritual songs, singing with grace in your heart to the Lord." This is important as well for spiritual growth, knowing his direction and avoiding false teachings.
We also need to be led by the Spirit of God, not carrying out the desires of the flesh. Romans 8:14, "For as many as are led by the Spirit of God, these are children of God." We can know these things as we have not received the spirit of bondage again to fear, but we have received the Spirit of adoption, whereby we cry, Abba, Father. Romans 8:15.
If we are rooted in His Word, led by His Spirit, and living righteously, we will be able to discern His voice from our feelings. Lord Jesus, You promised that Your sheep will hear Your voice. Help us to hear You clearly, to know Your direction, and to follow Your will.
