We are grateful to join you in prayer for your daughter and the young man she loves, trusting that God has revealed they will marry. We stand on the promise that God's will is perfect and His plans are to prosper and not to harm, to give a hope and a future, which is found in Jeremiah 29:11.
First of all praying in Jesus' name is essential, just as Jesus taught his disciples in John 16:23-24:
In that day you will no longer ask me anything. Most certainly I tell you, whatever you may ask of the Father in my name, he will give it back you. Until now, you have asked nothing in my name. Ask, and you will receive, that your joy may be made full.
We pray that this young man will be filled with the Spirit of wisdom and revelation in the knowledge of Christ, to strengthen him with power through His Spirit in his inner being, through the working of the Spirit filling this young man with courage, boldness, wisdom and discernment to walk in obedience into God's will. Ephesians 1:17
We pray that he will be a clear communicator, speaking the truth in love, guided by the Spirit of God, so those who hear will see the testimony of God's transforming power. Ephesians 4:15 But speaking truth in love, we may grow up in all things into him, who is the head, Christ;
We pray that he will stand firm in his convictions, even when surrounded by those who may not understand or support his decisions. We remember the words of Paul in Galatians 1:10,
For am I now seeking the favor of men, or of God? Or am I striving to please men?
We rebuke any generational strongholds and sins that may be hindering him, for the word of God says in Romans 8:21; our old self was with him crucified, that the body of sin might be done away with, so that we would no longer be in bondage to sin.
For the law of the Spirit of life in Christ Jesus made me free from the law of sin and of death.
We pray that he will be transformed into the likeness of Christ, putting the Lord first, loving God's word, and living in purity and in the fear of the Lord. That he will seek to honor your daughter in their courtship, saving the intimacy for marriage, as God commands in 1 Corinthians 6:18-20: Flee sexual immorality! Every sin that a human commits is outside the body; but whoever commits sexual immorality sins against his own body. Or don't you know that your body is a temple of the Holy Spirit which is in you, which you have from God? Seeing then that these things are so, and being one with God, honor God with your body, and with I spirit, which are God's.
We commit this situation to the Lord, trusting in His perfect will and timing for their union. And we pray believing with faith for God's will for this young man and your daughter, that it will be sufficient for preserving them blameless until the coming of our Lord Jesus Christ.
We pray that I Corinthians 13 will manifest into this couple:
Love is patient and is kind; love doesn't envy. Love doesn't brag, is not proud,doesn't behave itself inappropriately, doesn't seek its own way, is not provoked, takes no account of evil;doesn't rejoice in unrighteousness, but rejoices with the truth;bears all things, believes all things, hopes all things, endures all things.Love never fails.But where there are prophecies, they will be done away with. Where there are various languages, they will cease. Where there is knowledge, it will be done away with.
