Direction for my PHD research and Career in general

I am in a dilemma and would need all the advice and prayers I can get. Firstly I am a lawyer in my home country (a country in Africa). I really don't know if I am passionate about this field. I went on to do a masters in law in the UK and graduated. I met my now husband who had started his PHD program and we started dating in the UK. we are both International students (this means we are only permitted to stay in the UK if we are studying or working). After I graduated I was not able to get a Job within the four months that was left on my Visa. So I was expected to return back to my home country. Being in love my husband encouraged me to look for a scholarship to study in the UK so that we can be together which I was able to find one. I am current stuck and listless about my research area and I don't know what to do next with respect to my research as well as my career in general. Please do pray for me and send any advice you have. Thank you.

God place Your angels all around me to cover and protect me from all sickness, evil, hurt, harm, danger, accidents, the plans of my enemies, and the plans of the enemy of my soul. God deal with all my enemies according to Your Word. God all that I have asked of You in this prayer, please do the same for the writer of this prayer, all those I love and care about, and all those who love and care about me. And God please bless each of us to always walk in character and habits of Christ Jesus. Let us all live our lives for Your glory and good pleasure.
