Ogsash, we join you in prayer and petition, seeking God's will for your life. We pray that you and your siblings will find godly spouses, and that your marriages will be divinely ordained and biblically founded, as described in Genesis 2:24, "Therefore a man will leave his father and his mother, and will join with his wife, and they will be one flesh." We pray for your career advancement question. We pray your request that this consul visit will be as God wills it, and it is a blessing to your career and brings glory to God.
Concerning your prayer we do want to mention the importance of praying in the name of Jesus. It is only by praying in Jesus name that we can approach God and it is only by Jesus that we can be saved. This part was missing form your prayer. Perhaps this is not your understanding, as it appears you already believe in God and are calling Him God. Jesus was a man who was God and came to earth and died as atonement for our sins so we could be saved. If your faith is not in Jesus Christ or Christ, then our prayers will not work. We pray that you may believe in Jesus Christ, and in doing so be saved, as the WEB bible says:
"because, if you confess with your mouth that Jesus is Lord, and believe in your heart that God raised him from the dead, you will be saved. For with the heart, one believes unto righteousness; and with the mouth confession is made unto salvation. For the Scripture says, 'Whoever believes in him will not be disappointed.' For there is no distinction between Jew and Greek; for the same Lord is Lord of all, and is rich to all who call on him. For, 'Whoever will call on the name of the Lord will be saved.'
How then will they call on him in whom they have not believed? How will they believe in him whom they have not heard? How will they hear without a preacher? And how will they preach unless they are sent? As it is written:
'How beautiful are the feet of those who preach the Gospel of peace,
who bring glad tidings of good things!'
But they did not all listen to the glad news. For Isaiah says, 'Lord, who has believed our report?' So faith comes by hearing, and hearing by the word of God"
We pray that you may come to faith in Christ Jesus, and we pray that they eyes of your heart would be opened up and know the certainly of the hope of God's calling for you and that you would receive this inheritance with the saints. The issue with praying to God, who you call God, who we call God as well, is that God has already said there is only one way that His name and salvation comes and that is in Christ Jesus.
That being said we would pray and remember your requests, but we ask from this time forward you pray in Jesus name, so that you may be saved. "1 John 5:13 These things have I written unto you that believe on the name of the Son of God; that ye may know that ye have eternal life, and that ye may believe on the name of the Son of God. John 20:31 But these are written, that ye might believe that Jesus is the Christ, the Son of God; and that believing ye might have life through his name."
We pray for God's favor upon your life, as it is written in Psalm 5:12, "For you, WEB, will bless the righteous. You will surround him with favor as with a shield." We also lift up your desire for children. Your heart and motives are known by God as discussed in 1 Samuel 16:7. We pray your request and the blessing children may have in your life as God wills and Psalm 127:3 reminds us "Behold, children are a heritage of WEB. The fruit of the womb is a reward."
We ask that God would prepare the hearts of your future in-laws to receive you and recognize the light of Christ in you. We pray that your life would glorify God in all things and that your light would shine before men. We remember your request, but pray that you may have an interest and curiosity in having your sins forgiven and the assurance of eternal life that comes with believing in Jesus Christ's death on the cross as atonement for your sins.
We were not told your siblings and we hope it is not the case but we want to strongly emphasize this as well. In Matthew Jesus explains the meaning of marriage and the ancient verses the meaning of God's words in Genesis 2 and the issue with fornication and adultery. "Matthew 19:1 And it came to pass, that when Jesus had finished these sayings, he departed from Galilee, and came into the coasts of Judaea beyond Jordan;
19:2 And great multitudes followed him; and he healed them there.
19:3 The Pharisees also came unto him, tempting him, and saying unto him, Is it lawful for a man to put away his wife for every cause?
19:4 And he answered and said unto them, Have ye not read, that he which made them at the beginning made them male and female,
19:5 And said, For this cause shall a man leave father and mother, and shall cleave to his wife: and they twain shall be one flesh?
19:6 Wherefore they are no more twain, but one flesh. What therefore God hath joined together, let not man put asunder."
We pray for them, their spouses and families and the effect this has on their relationship with The Lord through Christ.
19:7 They say unto him, Why did Moses then command to give a writing of divorcement, and to put her away?
19:8 He saith unto them, Moses because of the hardness of your hearts suffered you to put away your wives: but from the beginning it was not so.
19:9 And I say unto you, Whosoever shall put away his wife, except it be for fornication, and shall marry another, committeth adultery: and whoso marrieth her which is put away doth commit adultery."
