We understand that you are facing a challenging situation at work, dealing with coworkers who exhibit rude, mean, and racist behavior. We will pray for you and address this situation with biblical principles and guidance. It is only by the name of Jesus that we have access to God and can. That is critical. Hang on to that tightly.
Firstly, let us remember what the WEB says in Matthew 5:44, But I tell you, love your enemies, bless those who curse you, do good to those who hate you, and pray for those who mistreat you and persecute you. This does not mean we ignore or excuse their behavior. Their behavior is obviously wrong. It is unrepentant sin and should not be part of living as Christians. Many people, even those claiming to be Christians, do not follow what Jesus says about this. This does mean we pray for their sin to be forgiven and for them to turn away from it.
We must also remember to deal in kindness and courage as Christians to all people. Anyone who truly has an intimate relationship with God will love Jesus and love all people as well. On the other hand, it is not a sin if you have a tough time getting along with them. But, we do have to be loving, kind, and pray for their sins to be addressed.
As for leaving their positions and other employment actions, it is crucial for a Christian not to be the judge, prosecutor, and jury. They must humble themselves to follow God's leading. God can take care of them. This does not mean that you cannot go to your superiors in the workplace to address a grievance with these people and let the process of correction be handled through the workplace. That is why workplaces establish procedures and policies. Just do not let the workplace procedures be a camouflaged vengeance, prideful judgement, or punishment mentality. In prayers to God, we are to pray fervently for justice and note that often action is expected by God on the part of Christians to get justice. 1 Timothy 2 1 I exhort therefore, first of all, that petitions, prayers, intercessions, and givings of thanks, be made for all men: 2 to kings, and all who are in high places; Jews live in a reprobate pagan culture as we do. But, who are we to make that decision as Christians except to address the sinful behavior and resist it when we can. We do not know all of the facts affecting them nor that they will not change. What we know is evil reveals itself not that we must be the ones to stop evil or make any decisions for those who exhibit evil. God can do this job well without our help. Our job is to resist evil, shine Christ's light so others can join the Kingdom of Heaven and maginify the Glory of God to the nations.
That is especially true in a supposedly Christian environment where these people are supposed to be preparing young children for the world academically and not role models. The behavior needs to confronted to the workplace administration and addressed seriously to stop it.
But, changing the environment for you and them to make it better places to let the Glory of God be seen. We do have a responsibility as Christians to role model Christianity for other people. Be a role model for the Gospel and the faith. Your presence and living for Jesus Christ can significantly impact others. Your actions and reactions can be a healing touch in a strained environment. We must also remember to pray and invite wise believers for intervention.
Let us pray together for the salvation of these people. By salvation, we mean that they have already believed who Jesus Christ is and what he has done for each person on earth. That Christ's blood pays the price for our sins, we can have an intimate relationship with the God who created everything.
Dear Heavenly Father,
We come before You in Jesus' name, lifting up our brother/sister who is facing a difficult situation at work. We pray for Your intervention in the lives of Lucy, Cassandra, Daisy, and Jennifer. Father, change their hearts and minds, and help them to see the error of their ways. Convict them of their sins and draw them to repentance. Help them seek forgiveness and reconciliation. Lord, help them to act in a mature manner and put away the selfish, rude, and discriminatory behaviors that have caused such strife. Help them have a resolve to turn away from all racism and discrimination and to be their triumph sin and to live for Christ.
Lord, surround our brother/sister with Godly relationships that build them up and encourage them in their walk with You. Help them to be a light in the darkness to make the Gospel even more attractive to others to embrace Christianity and join the Kingdom of Heaven. We pray that their workplace will be transformed into a place of love, unity, and respect.
We also pray for the salvation of Lucy, Cassandra, Daisy, and Jennifer and everyone involved with the workplace. We pray that they recognize that we are all equal, we should love all people even when it is hard, and that You have a way out for all sin even a way out of being hard to get along with so that people can be great human beings with great relationships to each other. We pray for people around them that their faith will be emboldened towards Christ and those that claim Christ as their savior will be a great example for other people. We ask for many people to look at all people as brothers and sisters rather than seeing separate and different polities, races, and cultures. We dignify the efforts to seek healing and also to dissolve hatred between races and cultures.
Father, guide our brother/sister in how to respond to this situation with love, kindness, and wisdom that pleases You. Help us pray and search deeper for an understanding of how to live your word according to scripture and have the courage to stand up to perversion. Give them the strength and grace to endure and overcome this trial, trusting in You every step of the way. Praise Your Holy Name by the power and in the name of Your Son Jesus Christ.
Amen.
We encourage you to continue praying and seeking God's guidance in this situation as well. Trust in Him to bring about change and healing. Stand firm in your faith, and remember that God is with you and fighting this battle for you. There is deep and sinister evil in the hearts for women and men who are racist and discriminate and have contempt for others. But, God can still change their hearts and if that happens, further God's Kingdom on the population of earth. Do not despise the evil and wrong attitudes and actions of these people, but forgive and do rebuking by delivering over to God by the power of Jesus Christ and bring forgiveness and change to them that can only be ushered in by being prayer warriors and a living testament to the Gospel of Christ.
