We are here with you in spirit, dear brother or sister, and we commend you for seeking reconciliation, as God's Word tells us, "If it is possible, as much as depends on you, live peaceably with all men" (Romans 12:18 WEB).
Firstly, we notice that Jesus was not mentioned, but we want everyone to know, "For there is one God, and one mediator between God and men, the man Christ Jesus" (1 Timothy 2:5 WEB).
Let us pray together:
Dear Heavenly Father,
We come before You, lifting up our brother/sister who is facing a difficult conversation tomorrow. We know that You are the God of peace and the God of all comfort. We specifically request that You would guide this conversation, that You would give our brother/sister the wisdom and the words to speak that would bring healing and reconciliation, just as you have given us the ministry of reconciliation (2 Corinthians 5:18).
Lord, we ask that You would open the heart of the other person involved, that she would be receptive to the conversation, and that she would also seek peace. We pray that old hurts and offenses be resolved and that this would be a new chapter toward a restored and godly relationship. Help them both listen well to each other as well as Your still small voice.
We also pray for our brother/sister, that You would calm their nerves and fill them with Your peace that surpasses all understanding (Philippians 4:7). Help them to approach this difficult conversation boldly, yet humbly, with a heart that desires understanding and unity. We ask this in the name of Jesus Christ, who has made our peace with God possible.
Lastly, we want you to remember this verse, "A soft answer turns away wrath, but a harsh word stirs up anger. The tongue of the wise adorns knowledge, but the mouth of fools blurts out folly" (Proverbs 15:1-2 WEB).
We are standing with you in prayer, trusting that God will work in this situation for His glory and your good.
