Not talking to my parents. So many things have gone on but years of having religion forced down my throat & not being allowed to think or ask questions for myself have been boiling up. Even now as a grown woman they want to tell me what to believe & stop talking to you if it's not the same belief as theirs. They've never even been there to help with my family because work always came first for them. They hardly know their grandkids. My relationship with God is just that, mine. But I am so hurt over it all.

We understand that you're going through a difficult situation with your parents, and we want to lift you up in prayer and provide some biblical guidance.

Firstly, it's important to remember that God has given each of us the freedom to choose our own beliefs. It is only by the name of Jesus that we have access to God. The Bible tells us, For there is one God, and one mediator between God and men, the man Christ Jesus. (1 Timothy 2:5 WEB) No other name can save us and give us access to God. While your parents may have tried to impose their beliefs on you, it's crucial to remember that your relationship with God is personal and unique. Jesus said, Come to me, all you who labor and are heavily burdened, and I will give you rest. Take my yoke upon you, and learn from me, for I am gentle and humble in heart; and you will find rest for your souls. (Matthew 11:28-29 WEB)

The Bible also teaches us to honor our parents. Children, obey your parents in the Lord, for this is right. Honor your father and mother, which is the first commandment with promise. (Ephesians 6:1-2 WEB) However, honoring them does not mean you have to agree with them on everything. You can still respect them while having different beliefs, and even if they are not actively involved in your family's life. When we are given freedom in Christ Jesus, we must use it to serve one another in love and not to cause division or strife, and only if we are forced to take a stand on biblical truths.

It's also important to address the hurt you're feeling. The Bible encourages us to forgive, as it says in Ephesians 4:31-32 WEB, Let all bitterness, wrath, anger, outcry, and slander, be put away from you, with all malice. And be kind to one another, tender hearted, forgiving each other, just as God also in Christ forgave you. Forgiveness does not mean what they did is acceptable, it means letting go of the bitterness and leaving justice to God.

Let's pray together:

Dear Heavenly Father,

We lift up our sister in Christ to you, asking for your comfort and guidance in her situation. Help her to navigate her relationship with her parents, giving her the strength to honor them while also standing firm in her own beliefs. Heal her from the hurt she's feeling, and help her to forgive, just as you have forgiven us through Christ Jesus. Guide her in her relationship with you, Lord, and help her to know your truth and love more deeply. May your will be done in her life and may this situation be used for your glory.
And help us all to focus our lives on what is most important.

In Jesus' name, we pray. Amen.

We're here for you, sister. It's tough when family dynamics are strained, especially when it comes to beliefs. But remember, God loves you just as you are, and He's walking this path with you. Let's cling to these promises: "I will never leave you nor forsake you" (Hebrews 13:5) and "Come to me, all you who are weary and burdened, and I will give you rest" (Matthew 11:28).

We understand the pain you're feeling, but let's not let bitterness take root. Instead, let's ask God for the grace to forgive, as He has forgiven us. It's okay to feel hurt, but let's not let that hurt define our relationships or our walk with God.

Let's also remember to honor our parents, even when we disagree. It's about respect and love, not agreement on every point. And let's trust that God is working in their hearts too, in His own time and way.

Let's pray: "Dear Lord, wrap your loving arms around our sister. Comfort her, guide her, and help her to navigate this difficult situation with wisdom and grace. Help her to honor her parents while staying true to her own beliefs. Heal her heart, Lord, and help her to forgive as You have forgiven her. In Jesus' name, we pray. Amen."

Praying for you and your family in Jesus. My daughter doesn’t let us see our grandchildren which to me just doesn’t seem right. It’s really odd that we can just block each other and not even listen to each other like we as a people in society used to have a better respect for each other.

I wanted to commit suicide once, I even came up with a plan. Right before I headed out the door I posted a prayer on here and hoping there might be help from God one last time I opened the Bible and only read take no thought for your life. I read that before at least 100 times but never really could understand how. This time I took it to heart, all right God I will end my life by not thinking about it. I take no thought, I take no thought, I take no thought over and over and over again I take no thought was my only thought that day. All of a sudden I noticed something, Jesus showed up, all my pains were gone, no neck ache, no back pain, no leg pain from many many accidents I had over the years and no pain in my heart as my wife had left me. I started singing praises and thanks to Jesus and my life has never been the same. It is our obedience to God from His Holy Instructions that makes a difference to His Power of His Promises in our lives.

Be a doer of Jesus friend, it really makes a difference! Thank You Lord Jesus!

Search the Bible for Jesus' Promises friend, do them and claim them in Jesus! Amen! Thank You Lord Jesus!

Powerful healing promise hidden in Proverbs 3:7-8, I am not wise in my own eyes, I fear You Lord, I depart from evil, especially my own evil thoughts and my flesh is healed and my body is refreshed in Jesus.

Praying for others especially in your situation will help you tremendously in yours friend.

Take no thought for your life dear friend and Jesus will take thought for you. Sing praises and thanks to Jesus and He will overflow His Holy Spirit in you and so much more. He will fight for you and give you the desires of your heart.

Let Us Pray: God I ask in Jesus' name, bless me to grow closer to You. I long for a more intimate relationship with You. Bless me daily to cast off and forsake my thoughts and ways for my life, and exchange them for Your thoughts and ways for my life. Let me think Your thoughts and dream Your dreams for my life. God bless me to live and walk in Your love, mercy and forgiveness (Isaiah 55:7). I confess, I will take no thought for my life. I will trust You Father God to take thought for me and take care of me (Mathew 6:25-34). I will not be wise in my own eyes, I will fear You Lord and depart from evil and my flesh will be healed and my body will be refreshed (Proverbs 3:7-8) daily. Thank You Jesus for Your Promises! Lord make me the Child of God You need me to be in Christ for all those around me and for the world to see (Psalms 128:3). Not by my might, nor by my power, but by Your Spirt Christ Jesus (Zechariah 4:6) this shall happen. And it will happen, it is happening now in Your timing, Power, Strength, Might, and Spirit, Christ Jesus. God all that I have asked of you in this prayer please do the same for all those I love, care about, and every faithful prayer warrior on this site. Thank You, Thank You, Thank You Lord Jesus, my Savior and Lord for answering this prayer with a Yes and Amen.
