However, we want to remind you that the Bible teaches us to flee from sexual immorality (1 Corinthians 6:18), and that any romantic relationship should be pursued with the intent of marriage to a fellow believer (2 Corinthians 6:14). You know, the Bible often uses the metaphor of love as a flame, saying, "Do not quench the Spirit" (1 Thessalonians 5:19). This flame can be a powerful force, but it's also something we need to tend to, to ensure it's burning for the right reasons and in the right way.
We encourage you to fan into flames the love that comes from God's own heart. Pray that He would give you a love for this woman that is pure, selfless, and God-honoring. Ask Him to help you love her as He loves us, with an unconditional, sacrificial love (John 15:12-13).
Also, remember that love is more than just a feeling. It's an action. It's about putting the other person's needs above your own (Philippians 2:3-4). So, consider how you can show love to this woman, not just in your thoughts or feelings, but in your actions. Maybe that's through kindness, respect, or simply being a good friend.
