'So that you will be completely mature and not lacking in anything.' James 1:4 CEV

James writes: 'Be glad, even if you have a lot of trouble. You know that you learn to endure by having your faith tested. But you must learn to endure everything, so that you will be completely mature and not lacking in anything' (James 1:2-4 CEV). Trouble isn't usually something we're glad to have. We try and avoid it, or pray for it to end quickly. When life brings us to a low, we can become low and get tired waiting for the trouble to pass. Often we question God's goodness and nearness, and ask him, 'Why'? James tells us that through tough times we gain endurance and spiritual maturity.

And, Romans 5:3-4 (TLB) tells us: 'We can rejoice, too, when we run into problems and trials, for we know that they... help us learn to be patient. And patience develops strength of character in us and helps us trust God more each time we use it until finally our hope and faith are strong and steady.' Tough times require us to really trust God for support. We realise that God has the best solution.

We may not get answers to our, 'Why', but what we will get, if we ask and genuinely want God's answer, is a 'How'. God will show us how he can use the situation we're in to develop us into who he's created us to be.

So what now? Next time you're tempted to ask God, 'Why?', ask him, 'How?' instead.

I always ask myself why, its just in human nature, and also i always want to know what lies behind, have i done something wrong to repent, or is some evil spirit standing behind it etc....but still you have right, everything we endure is for our character, and i notice when i go through a hard time, i seek God more, and have more deeper relationship with him, it is deeper, if the trouble is bigger. LIke now, with health. I felt Jesus so strong yesterday in my spirit like maybe couple of times in my last 18 years of christianity.
Everythig that happens, happens to mold us into the being we are created to be. Some things we go through will made us a channel for someones healing, prosperity or deliverance. We may get more patience and love for people, this is deffinetely, because only people who have gone through afflictions can understand other people who are going through those kind of afflictions or similar. I experienced that many times.
And yes, it is very important to seek God and ask HOW, asking for the word and strategies to be an overcomer in that situation.

Amen. All this bogus so called " word of faith" teaching completely ignores the Biblical reality of trials and suffering....and supposes that godliness is a means of gain...and thinks essentially bossing God around ( as if we could) is faith.
Scripture says our faith is precious to God and is refined by fire. ( 1 Peter 1 ;6-7)
Amen

I know some of them, but they are not mentioning that they have also their struggles so often. I know one pastor that is in the stream of the WORD OF FAITH, and he said only one time that his daughter was in the hospital and that they thought she would not make it. But you know why they doesnt talk about it, not because they have not their own struggles, but because if you preach to much about trials and tribulations your faith may go down. I experienced it many times. They preach the word of faith, and it should be like that. Consider also that point of view. If you speak about problems to much, they may grow stronger. You can say a blessing or a curse. You choose what you will speak, the word of God or your circumstances....I will not be saved by someones preaching how hard it was for him and preaching all the horrible or said story from the beginning till the end, but by the word of God, which comes from the Holy spirit, and if preachers will listen to the Holy spirit, i think many preachers would preach completely different things then what they preach now. God bless you....

Hi Natasha.. I am talking about false teachers and the Word of God warns us about that ..
Here is my test I use..if the main subject is " me.. my destiny..etc" I reject it. The main subject is GOD, should always be the LORD JESUS.
I am not saying only talk about trials.. I am saying it's important to not ignore them. It is very Biblical. Jesus said " in this world you will have tribulation...but be of good cheer..I have overcome the world." ( John 16:33)
Blessings

Every real believer has tribulations...this is the real test.
Why not ME and MY DESTINY in CHRIST JESUS?

Have you read the Epistles of Paul. Paul said I determined to know nothing among you except Christ and him crucified.( 1 Cor.2:2) John the Baptist said He (Jesus) must increase while I must decrease.( John 3:30)
one of the biggest test that we all face really everyday as Christians is dying to ourselves and living for God.
Remember Lucifer was thrown out of heaven for wanting to exalt himself over God.( Isaiah 14th chapter)

This does not mean you and I are not important to the LORD. He loved us so much he went to the Cross for us.
JESUS IS HIMSELF our great reward. What better destiny is there?
None.
A false teacher will emphasize himself as the most important thing...and will misuse Scripture to do it. This is why it's important to study the Word of God for ourselves...and learn to rightly divide the word of truth ( 2 Tim 2:15) ... compare Scripture with Scripture...do not ignore context.
Some false teachers for example will say it's always God's will to heal everyone in every circumstance... This is not Biblical. You will have to ignore many passages in the Word of God to come up with that. Like the ENTIRE book of Job for example. Yes we are all promised ultimate healing in His Kingdom ( Revelation 21:4) praise God.
You are very important to Jesus. He thinks about you all the time pretty much ( Psalm 139)
God bless you....

Thank you for that BUT THE WILL OF GOD IS ALWAYS TO HEAL PEOPLE!!!!!!! Jesus Christ went throught the land HEALING AAAAAAAALLLLL WHO WERE OPPRESSED!!! Read more new testament and less old testament, new covenant has way better promises then the old testament.
Why did Jesus went to the Cross, so that you may or may not be healed, he will think aboout it, if you are deserving of healing. Nonsense....You are not serving a loving God, brother, your God is schizophrenic. I love my God and He loves me....I dont want to discuss about it any more. I just can stand when people are in deception from the pit of hell!!!!
