Accept his forgiveness and healing

'Who forgives all your sins.' Psalm 103:3 NIV
The Psalmist wrote, 'Who forgives all your sins and heals all your diseases' (Psalm 103:3 NIV). The answer is seen in the story of the man lowered into the room Jesus was teaching in. Jesus said to those in the room: 'I want you to know that the Son of Man has authority on earth to forgive sins' (Luke 5:23-24 NIV).
Jesus has the authority to forgive all our sins. Sometimes we settle for partial forgiveness. We don't want to let God into the messy, dark places in our lives that we can't forgive others, or ourselves, for. We need to let the past go, let our mistakes go and receive healing from him. We need to allow ourselves to be free, and learn to forgive ourselves by receiving God's total and complete forgiveness with an open heart. Jesus is waiting for us to accept this freedom in our lives.
Let's stop hurting ourselves, beating ourselves up and punishing ourselves - because Jesus is not. He loves us! It's time to stop asking ourselves if we've done enough to earn God's forgiveness and acceptance. We can't earn it; we get it immediately when we believe (and accept) that his transformative grace displayed on the cross brought forgiveness to us all.
So what now? Are there areas of your life where you haven't let God in? Choose to hand them over to him, and accept the gift of forgiveness and healing he's offering you.
