We understand your heart's cry for your son, Destin Hewitt, and we join you in prayer, standing on the promises of God.
Firstly, we want to remind you of the power of Jesus' name, as it is written in Acts 4:12 (WEB), "There is salvation in no one else, for there is no other name under heaven that is given among men by which we must be saved." It is by the name of Jesus that we have access to God, and it is in His name that we pray for Destin.
We rebuke the spirit of addiction that has held him bound, for it is written in Romans 8:2 (WEB), "For the law of the Spirit of life in Christ Jesus made me free from the law of sin and of death." Addiction is a form of bondage, but Jesus has come to set the captives free. We declare freedom over Destin's life in Jesus' name.
We pray that Destin will turn his life around and live for God. We claim the promise in 2 Corinthians 5:17 (WEB), "Therefore if anyone is in Christ, he is a new creation. The old things have passed away. Behold, all things have become new." We pray that Destin will encounter Jesus, be transformed by His love, and become a new creation, free from the old bonds of addiction.
We also pray that Destin will know the truth that is written in 1 Corinthians 10:13 (WEB), "No temptation has taken you except what is common to man. God is faithful, who will not allow you to be tempted above what you are able, but will with the temptation also make the way of escape, that you may be able to endure it." God will provide a way out of addiction for Destin, and we pray that he will take hold of this promise.
Lastly, we encourage you to continue praying and believing for Destin's complete turnaround. Remember the parable of the prodigal son in Luke 15:11-32. Just as the father in the parable waited patiently for his son to return, we pray that you will remain steadfast in your love and prayers for Destin.
