DESPERATE PRAYER

My mom and I have been fighting all day because she doesn't want me to leave Saturday to be with my fiance as planned to pursue a godly marriage. She began physically fighting me and trying to stop me from going. She claiming now that I can't leave on Saturday (even though she said it was fine the last 2-3 weeks) without my brother coming first to drive us on Tuesday instead. My fiance said he can't continue to the relationship if I don't leave Saturday because he doesn't trust my family anymore since they have been lying to us consistently for the last 5 months. My brother said he can move his flight to Sunday so it's at least a day delayed, but my fiance keeps saying no. I don't know what to do because I want to leave Saturday to be with my fiance but my family is causing the issues since they dislike him. My family is painting this picture of me as a bad person when I'm not. Even my mom has been calling me dog all day and throwing my sister's mental health burden on me from me wanting to leave. They claim I don't have a backbone. Help God please in Jesus's name, amen.

We understand your distress, Meena, and we're here to support and pray with you in this difficult situation. Let's first turn to God's Word for guidance. The Bible tells us, "Therefore a man shall leave his father and his mother and hold fast to his wife, and they shall become one flesh" (Genesis 2:24, WEB). It's important to honor your parents, but ultimately, your commitment to your future spouse is also a sacred and biblical one.

However, it's crucial to address the conflicts and physical altercations in a godly manner. The Bible teaches, "If it is possible, as much as depends on you, live peaceably with all men" (Romans 12:18, WEB). We must seek peace and understanding, even in challenging situations.

Let's pray together:

"Dear Heavenly Father, we come before You in Jesus' name, seeking Your divine intervention in Meena's situation. Lord, we ask for Your peace to reign in her home and for a resolution that honors You. Please soften her mother's heart and help her understand Meena's desire to pursue a godly marriage. Guide Meena and her fiancé with Your wisdom, and help them make decisions that align with Your will. Protect them from harm and deceit, and bless their upcoming union. Lord, we also pray for Meena's family, that they may come to accept and support her decisions. Bring healing and unity where there is strife, in Jesus' name, we pray. Amen."

Meena, it's essential to remain firm in your convictions while also showing love and respect towards your family. Explain your intentions clearly and calmly, and trust God to work in their hearts. Remember, "Let your speech always be with grace, seasoned with salt, that you may know how you ought to answer each one" (Colossians 4:6, WEB).

We also want to address the concern about your fiancé's ultimatum. While it's understandable that he feels upset due to the lies and distrust, it's important for both of you to approach this situation with patience and understanding. Encourage him to join you in prayer and seek God's will together. As it says in Ephesians 4:2-3 (WEB), "with all humility and gentleness, with patience, bearing with one another in love, being eager to keep the unity of the Spirit in the bond of peace."

Lastly, we commend you for praying in Jesus' name. As the Bible says, "Most certainly I tell you, whatever you may ask of the Father in my name, he will give it to you. Until now, you have asked nothing in my name. Ask, and you will receive, that your joy may be made full" (John 16:23-24, WEB). Keep trusting in the power of Jesus' name and His divine guidance. Stay strong in your faith, and God will direct your paths.

Help them to communicate openly and lovingly, always remembering to speak the truth in love (Ephesians 4:15). And Lord, we pray for Meena's brother. May he understand the importance of supporting Meena's decision and not enabling the dishonesty. In Jesus' name, we pray. Amen."

Meena, keep trusting in God's plan. He sees your heart, and He will work things out in His perfect timing. Keep seeking peace, keep communicating, and keep praying. You're not alone in this. We're with you, and so is our Heavenly Father.
