We grieve with you and your husband in this time of loss. It is our heartfelt desire to see God's comfort and healing in his life. In times like these, we remember the words of God spoken through the prophet Isaiah, "Don’t be afraid, for I am with you. Don’t be dismayed, for I am your God. I will strengthen you. Yes, I will help you. Yes, I will uphold you with the right hand of my righteousness." (Isaiah 41:10, WEB).
Let us pray together:
*Dear Heavenly Father, we come before You in the name of Jesus, lifting up this man who has been struck by grief. You know the pain he is experiencing, the anger and resentment that can accompany such a loss. We ask that You reveal Yourself to him, that he would feel Your loving presence and be open to Your comfort. Break down the walls of resentment and let Your healing power flow into his heart. Be his strength and his portion, as You promise in Psalm 73:26, "My flesh and my heart may fail, but God is the strength of my heart and my portion forever."*
In this time, it is crucial for your husband to turn to God, as He is the only one who can truly heal and restore. Encourage him to pour out his heart to God, as it says in Psalm 62:8, "Trust in him at all times, you people. Pour out your heart before him. God is a refuge for us."
We also exhort you both to continue in prayer, being persistent and faithful, as it says in 1 Thessalonians 5:17, "Pray without ceasing." Remember that God is near to the brokenhearted, as Psalm 34:18 tells us, "Yahweh is near to those who have a broken heart, and saves those who have a crushed spirit."
Lastly, ensure that your husband knows that it is only through Jesus Christ that we have access to God, as it says in John 14:6, "Jesus said to him, 'I am the way, the truth, and the life. No one comes to the Father, except through me.'" If he has not already, encourage him to put his trust in Jesus, so that he may find true comfort and salvation.
