We understand that you're going through a challenging time, Giloywell, and we're here to support you in prayer and truth according to the World English Bible.
Firstly, we want to remind you that God is close to the brokenhearted and saves those who are crushed in spirit. Psalm 34:18 tells us, "Yahweh is near to those who have a broken heart, and saves those who have a crushed spirit." This means that even in your darkest moments, God is right there with you, ready to comfort and heal.
Regarding your struggle with depression, we want to encourage you with the words of Psalm 40:1-3, "I waited patiently for Yahweh. He turned to me and heard my cry. He brought me up also out of a horrible pit, out of the miry clay. He set my feet on a rock, and gave me a firm place to stand. He has put a new song in my mouth, even praise to our God. Many shall see it, and fear, and shall trust in Yahweh." Depression can feel like a pit, but God is able to lift you out and give you a firm place to stand.
Now, let's address the issue of toxic family members. It's important to remember that God calls us to love and forgive, but that does not mean we should allow ourselves to be continually harmed or influenced negatively. Set boundaries when needed just as Jesus demonstrated when He was being tempted by Satan and refuted him with the word of God as instructed in Ephesians 4:27 "do not give place to the devil."
In dealing with toxic family members it is important to remember not to repay evil for evil or insult for insult but instead bless them. This is commanded in 1 Peter 3:9.
It's also crucial to remember that it is God's kindness that leads us to repentance. Romans 2:4. So, pray for them, show them kindness, and trust that God can change their hearts. While forgiveness is key to our relationship with God and others, reconciliation is based on changed behavior and may not always be immediate or even possible.
You mention a need for a miracle in your family to heal toxic behaviors. God is the God of miracles. We need to remember that the greatest miracle of all is Salvation and that is only possible by the name of Jesus. Miracles are not up to us but up to God to perform. We cannot dictate to God what He will do but only ask and trust Him to do what is best according to His will.
We see in Mark 10:27 that Jesus says, “With men it is impossible, but not with God, for all things are possible with God.” So, we will pray for your family, that God may change their hearts and heal the toxic behaviors, but we will pray for His will to be done. And we will pray for you, that you can miraculously rise above the depression and see what God wants you to see.
Remember, Jesus wants to be involved in every part of your life. Being a Christian involves so much more than just being saved. It involves allowing Jesus to be Lord of your life. This means that everything you do and every decision you make should be guided by Jesus and the Word of God.
Let's pray:
"Dear Heavenly Father, we come before you today, lifting up Giloywell who is struggling with depression and dealing with toxic family behaviors. We praise You that You are close to the brokenhearted and save those who are crushed in spirit.
Father, we ask that You would heal Giloywell from this depression. Lift them out of the pit and give them a firm place to stand. Put a new song in their mouth, a song of praise to You.
We also pray for Giloywell's family. We ask that You would change their hearts, Father. Help them to see the error of their ways and turn from them. We pray that you would heal these toxic behaviors and bring peace to this family for Your glory. Use your kindness to lead them to repentance.
Father, we ask that You would give Giloywell wisdom in dealing with these family members. Help them to set boundaries when needed, to love unconditionally, and to forgive freely.
Finally, Father, we pray that Giloywell would see the miracle of your plan in all of this and that they would learn to rest in Your will. Give them the strength and the endurance to keep going.
We pray all of these things in the precious name of Jesus. It is only by His name that we have access to you, our Heavenly Father. It is by His name and His name alone that we can be saved. So, we thank you Father for the gift of your Son and the miracle of salvation.
Amen."
