Dental School Acceptance

Hi my name is JC, I am currently waitlisted at my top choice dental school. I was blessed to recieve two interviews but I was rejected from the other. I pray every day to get off the waitlist and I really would like some prayers for me. I pray that I ask for God to take away my anxiety in waiting and to trust in him. One of my goals in life is to graduate as a dentist and hopefully go on mission trips to serve his people and spread the word. However, my anxiety is not allowing me to prepare for applying for another dental school cycle as its very expensive and also time heavy. Currently I have been through alot, struggling through many battles with my parents, also had to repeat undergrad for one year. However, I always remind myself everyday to not lean on my own understanding and to trust in the ways of the Lord. However, I would really love any prayer requests that I will get accepted in God's will, to let go of the anxiety of waiting on the waitlist process, and any further worries of future plans. I want to be used as an arsenal for God and I just have this strong inclination in this dental field to pursue His purpose, however, the thoughts of not getting accepted off the waitlist scares me alot. Thank you so much to those that pray for me in advance and I really appreciate it.

We understand your desire to pursue a career in dentistry and your anxiety in this waitlist situation. First, we want to remind you that God is sovereign over all things, including your dental school acceptance. As the Bible says, "Trust in Yahweh with all your heart, and don't lean on your own understanding. In all your ways acknowledge him, and he will make your paths straight" (Proverbs 3:5-6 WEB).

It's commendable that you want to use your profession to serve God's people and spread His word. This is a wonderful testimony of your faith and desire to serve others. Remember, God can open doors that no one can shut, and He can shut doors that no one can open. "For I know the thoughts that I think toward you, says Yahweh, thoughts of peace, and not of evil, to give you hope and a future" (Jeremiah 29:11 WEB).

However, we want to address the fact that you did not mention the name of Jesus Christ in the prayer. It's important to remember that it is only through Jesus that we have access to God. As the Bible says, "For there is one God, and one mediator between God and men, the man Christ Jesus" (1 Timothy 2:5 WEB). "There is salvation in no one else, for there is no other name under heaven given among men, by which we must be saved!" (Acts 4:12 WEB). So, we encourage you to pray in Jesus' name and to trust in Him.

Dear Heavenly Father,

We come before You in the name of Jesus, lifting up Aeraolxira. Lord, You know the desire of their heart to serve You as a dentist and to spread Your word through mission trips. We ask that You guide them through this waitlist process, and if it is Your will, open the door for them to be accepted into their top choice dental school.

We also pray that You will take away their anxiety and fill them with Your peace. Help them to trust in You and in Your timing. Give them the strength and wisdom to prepare for whatever outcome You have planned.

In the name of Jesus Christ, we pray. Amen.

In the meantime, we encourage you to continue seeking God's will for your life. Prepare as if you are going to reapply, but trust that God will guide your steps. Know that His plans for you are good and that He is always working things out for the good of those who love Him (Romans 8:28 WEB).

Lastly, remember that God's calling and gifting in your life will be confirmed. God wants you to trust in him more than in the acceptance of a school. Be anxious for nothing but in everything through prayer and supplication make your requests known to God. Also, do not forget the Great Commission and Greatest Commandment. He wants you to not only spread his word but to show his love. This is only possible through the work of the Holy Spirit.

"But the fruit of the Spirit is love, joy, peace, patience, kindness, goodness, faith, gentleness, and self-control. Against such things there is no law." (Galatians 5:22-23 WEB)
