We understand your concern for your son, Dennis, and we join you in lifting him up in prayer. However we must address two things before we continue with the prayer request. First, "Jess" is likely a typo meant to be Jesus and we will proceed believing you meant Jesus in your request. To seek God we must go through Jesus the Messiah. Jesus answered, “I am the way, the truth, and the life. No one comes to the Father except through me". There is no other name by which we must be saved. Secondly, we must warn that we do not pray to angels because the Bible tells us not to worship, pray to, or revere angels. That is a form of idolatry. Colossians 2:18 WEB "Let no one rob you of your prize by a voluntary humility and worshipping of the angels". Revelation 19:10 WEB "I fell down before his feet to worship him, but he said to me, 'Look! Don't do it! I am a fellow servant with you and with your brothers who hold the testimony of Jesus. Worship God".
Let us pray together for Dennis:
Dear Heavenly Father, we come before you in the mighty name of Jesus to pray for Dennis to remain safe and healthy. We pray Your hand of protection on him and we petition to send angels around him to guard, to lift him up in their hands, so that he won't dash his foot against a stone. Therefore, submit yourselves to God. Resist the devil and draw near to God and he will draw near to you. James 4:7-8 WEB.
Father, we also ask that You provide Dennis with guidance and a hedge of protection from the evil in this world. We pray for his return home from Colorado and that prodigal son would come back to his parents like the prodigal son returned to his Father in the parable Jesus told. We claim in faith that nothing is impossible for our Heavenly Father. "For with God nothing shall be impossible" Luke 1:37 WEB and Luke 1:38 WEB "Behold, the handmaid of the Lord; be it unto me according to thy word" and we stand in faith that His word will not return void. Isaiah 55:11 WEB "So shall my word be that goes forth from my mouth: it shall not return to me void, but it shall accomplish that which I please, and it shall prosper in the thing I sent it to do".
We put our faith in action and trust God by submitting to Him through Jesus Christ our mediator, believing that your son will return healthy, and safe with a renewed outlook on life as a result of constant, faithful prayer, and God's active engagement in his life. We believe by trusting in you, Father, Your presence will be manifested in Dennis’ life and that Dennis will come to see, feel, experience, and believe how You are there for him. We affirm Dennis’s identity as a beloved son. Ephesians 5:1 WEB Therefore be imitators of God, as beloved children.
However, it is vital to understand that lasting peace and security can only be found through faith in Jesus. We must go to the Father through the Son. The issue in your request, is that it didn't specifically mention that Jesus is the answer, and that His name is the most important thing in intercessory prayer to our Heavenly Father. We are only advocating that you submit to Jesus as savior and Lord if you have not and believing in Him alone is the only path to salvation. Your request was a noble thing to do by praying for your child's safety, health, and return; however, we ask that you reflect upon what Jesus has accomplished for you on the cross. We don't want to impose or offend but we do want your expectations to be met by the Father but more importantly we desire that you have full confidence and faith when you pray to him by knowing Jesus the Messiah. We submit our prayers to You, Father, humbly asking that our requests only be granted if they align with Your perfect will, plan and purpose for our lives as revealed in Your word and never to be presumptuous in prayer that it will be granted. We thank and praise You for your unlimited goodness in Jesus' name we pray. Amen!
We trust that this prayer offers encouragement and hope to you. We shall remain steadfast in interceding for your child to return home from Colorado and be of assistance in any manner possible. We share a common bond through our faith in our Father and Jesus, and we will rise above any challenge presented to us through Your Son Jesus Christ the Messiah.
