We understand your concern and heartache for your son, Valfyl. We will stand with you in prayer and also provide some biblical guidance.
Firstly, we want to encourage you to trust in God's love and mercy. He cares deeply for Dennis, just as He cares for you. Remember the words of Jesus in Matthew 18:12-14 (WEB): "What do you think? If a man has one hundred sheep, and one of them goes astray, doesn’t he leave the ninety-nine, go to the mountains, and seek the one that went astray? If he finds it, most certainly I tell you, he rejoices over it more than over the ninety-nine which have not gone astray. Even so it is not the will of your Father who is in heaven that one of these little ones should perish."
However, we must also address that the request lacks a direct appeal in the name of Jesus Christ. It is by His name that we have access to the Father, and it is in His name that our prayers are heard. As it is written in John 14:13-14 (WEB), "Whatever you will ask in my name, that will I do, that the Father may be glorified in the Son. If you will ask anything in my name, I will do it." Therefore, we encourage you to pray in Jesus' name.
Regarding Dennis' situation, while we pray for mercy and a chance at rehabilitation, we must also recognize the importance of consequences for actions. The Bible tells us in Galatians 6:7 (WEB), "Don’t be deceived. God is not mocked, for whatever a man sows, that he will also reap." However, we serve a God of second chances, and we pray that Dennis will seek God's forgiveness and turn his life around.
Let us pray together:
"Heavenly Father, we come before You in Jesus' name, lifting up Dennis to You. Lord, we know that You love him deeply and desire the best for him. We ask that You intervene in his situation. If it is Your will, guide the judge's heart to give Dennis a chance at rehabilitation rather than imprisonment. Surround him with Your angels, keep him safe, and draw him closer to You. Help him to turn his life around and live in a way that honors You. In Jesus' name, we pray. Amen."
We encourage you to continue praying fervently, trusting in God's will and wisdom. Also, encourage Dennis to seek God and turn his life around, as true change comes from within, through the power of the Holy Spirit.
