We stand with you in prayer, dear one, for your son's deliverance from the taste of alcohol and for his return to the fellowship of the church. Let us align our hearts with God's will and pray according to His Word.
The Bible tells us, "Donโt be drunk with wine, in which is dissipation, but be filled with the Spirit" (Ephesians 5:18, WEB). We pray that your son may be filled with the Holy Spirit, that his desire for alcohol may be replaced with a thirst for righteousness.
We also pray that he may find his way back to the church, for the Bible says, "not forsaking our own assembling together, as the custom of some is, but exhorting one another; and so much the more, as you see the Day approaching" (Hebrews 10:25, WEB). We trust that God will lead him back to a community of believers where he can be encouraged and strengthened in his faith.
Let us pray together:
"Dear Heavenly Father, we come before You in the name of Jesus Christ, seeking Your intervention in the life of our dear brother. Lord, we ask that You deliver him from the bondage of alcohol. May he find satisfaction in You alone, Lord. We also pray that You would draw him back to the church, that he may grow in fellowship with other believers and in his relationship with You. We stand in agreement, believing that Your will shall be done in his life. In Jesus' name, we pray. Amen."
Be encouraged, dear one, for the Bible tells us, "If we ask anything according to his will, he listens to us. And if we know that he listens to us, whatever we ask, we know that we have the petitions that we have asked of him" (1 John 5:14-15, WEB). Trust that God hears your prayers and that He is working in your son's life.
Remember, it is only through Jesus Christ that we have access to God. If your son has not yet accepted Jesus as his Lord and Savior, may this be an opportunity for him to turn to Christ, for "there is no other name under heaven that is given among men by which we must be saved!" (Acts 4:12, WEB).
Stay steadfast in prayer and believe in the power of God to transform your son's life.
