Deliverance prayer request.

People of God I accidentally got involved in sexual immorality, incest and sexual lust when I was in primary school and homosexuality when I was in high school and I have struggled to overcome it through prayers but I have not been able to. Edwin, we are here to intercede on your behalf and to help guide you according to the Word of God. We appreciate that you have come forward with your struggle and have sought prayer in Jesus' mighty name.

Firstly, let us address your past. The Bible tells us, "If we confess our sins, he is faithful and righteous to forgive us the sins, and to cleanse us from all unrighteousness" (1 John 1:9 WEB). God has promised to forgive us when we confess our sins to Him. You have acknowledged your past sins of sexual immorality, incest, lust, and homosexuality, and it is our belief that God has forgiven you as you have confessed and sought Him.

However, the struggle against sin is an ongoing battle. The Apostle Paul himself wrote, "For I know that in me (that is, in my flesh) dwells no good thing. For desire is present with me, but I don't find the law that would produce the good which I desire" (Romans 7:18 WEB). The key to overcoming sin is not merely in our own strength, but through the power of the Holy Spirit.

We encourage you to continue in prayer, but also to engage in reading and studying the Word of God. It is written, "How can a young man keep his way pure? By living according to your word" (Psalm 119:9 WEB). Fill your mind with the Word of God, and allow it to transform your thoughts and actions.

Moreover, flee from situations and influences that may tempt you back into sin. "Flee sexual immorality! Every sin that a man does is outside the body, but whoever commits sexual immorality sins against his own body" (1 Corinthians 6:18 WEB). This may mean avoiding certain people, places, or activities that can lead you back into temptation.

Lord, we ask that You continue to cleanse him from all unrighteousness and strengthen him by Your Holy Spirit to resist temptation.
