We are deeply concerned and grieved to hear about the struggle that your son, Dreks, is facing with drug abuse, including meth and marijuana. We stand with you in prayer, seeking God's intervention and deliverance for him.
Firstly, let's recall what the Word of God says in 2 Corinthians 5:17 WEB, "Therefore if anyone is in Christ, he is a new creation. The old things have passed away. Behold, all things have become new." We pray that Dreks will encounter Jesus and be made new, free from the bondage of addiction.
We pray together:
"Heavenly Father, we come before You in the name of Jesus Christ, interceding for Dreks. Lord, we ask for Your mercy and grace to deliver him from the grip of drug abuse. We know that no addiction is too strong for Your power to break. We pray that You will give Dreks a deep conviction of his need for You, that he may turn from his destructive ways and seek Your face.
God, we ask for divine interventions in his life. Surround him with godly influences and remove any negative peers that may be encouraging his harmful habits. Give him the strength to resist temptations and the courage to seek help.
We also pray for you, dear parent, that God will give you the wisdom to guide Dreks, the patience to endure this trial, and the faith to believe that God can turn this situation around for good, as promised in Romans 8:28 WEB, 'We know that all things work together for good for those who love God, to those who are called according to his purpose.'
If Dreks does not yet know Jesus as his Savior, we pray that this will be a time for him to experience the transforming power of the gospel. May he come to know that it is only through the name of Jesus Christ that we can be saved and set free. As Acts 4:12 WEB tells us, 'There is salvation in none other, for neither is there any other name under heaven, that is given among men, by which we must be saved.'
Lord, we ask for complete healing and restoration for Dreks. May he come to know the abundant life that Jesus offers. In Jesus' mighty name, we pray. Amen."
In this challenging time, we encourage you to keep your hope anchored in God's promises. Continue to pray fervently and trust in His ability to bring about change in Dreks' life. Galatians 6:9 WEB reminds us, "Let’s not be weary in doing good, for we will reap in due season, if we don’t give up." Stay strong in faith and remain steadfast in prayer.
