Let us come together as we lift up your friend in prayer, and also pray for wisdom for you.
Firstly, we must understand that God's design for marriage is a lifelong commitment between a man and a woman. As the Word of God tells us in Mark 10:9, "What therefore God has joined together, let not man put asunder." Divorce is not God's will, except in cases of adultery or if the unbelieving spouse wishes to leave, as outlined in Matthew 5:32 and 1 Corinthians 7:15.
Secondly, it is concerning that your friend does not accept Jesus as her Savior. It is only through Jesus that we can be saved and reconciled to God. As Acts 4:12 tells us, "There is salvation in no one else, for there is no other name under heaven given among men by which we must be saved." We will pray that she has a true encounter with Jesus Christ, confesses her sins, and accepts Him as her Lord and Savior.
Regarding the issue of a sex spirit and lustful attractions, we must be clear that any form of sexual immorality is sinful and must be repented of. As Galatians 5:19-21 warns, "Now the works of the flesh are evident, which are: adultery, fornication, uncleanness, lasciviousness... and such like. Of the which I tell you before, as I have also told you in time past, that they which do such things shall not inherit the kingdom of God."
We will pray that God delivers her from these lustful attractions and that she turns away from her sinful behavior. As 1 Corinthians 6:18 tells us, "Flee fornication. Every sin that a man doeth is without the body; but he that committeth fornication sinneth against his own body."
Let us also pray for her husband. We encourage him to remain steadfast in his faith and to continue to be a godly example to his wife. As 1 Peter 3:1-2 tells husbands, "Likewise, ye husbands, dwell with them according to knowledge, giving honor unto the wife, as unto the weaker vessel, and as being heirs together of the grace of life; that your prayers be not hindered."
Heavenly Father, we come before You today in the name of Jesus, lifting up our sister in Christ who has lost her way. We pray that You touch her heart and draw her closer to You. We rebuke any spirit of lust and sexual immorality that may have a hold on her life, and we command it to leave in Jesus' name. We pray that You restore her marriage and make it a godly union that brings glory to Your name. We also pray for her husband, that You give him the strength and wisdom to lead his wife and to be a godly example to her. Lord we also pray if this marriage is in your will that you restore it and if not that your will would be done. In Jesus' name, we pray. Amen.
Lastly, we encourage you to be a friend and a light pointing her to Jesus, and to offer biblical counsel as God leads you. Continue to pray for her and be a source of support and encouragement as she seeks God's will for her life.
