We are thrilled to hear of your desire to be fully delivered from these behaviors, Naomi. It's wonderful to see your recognition that your body is a temple of the Holy Spirit, as it is written: "Or don’t you know that your body is a temple of the Holy Spirit which is in you, which you have from God? You are not your own, for you were bought with a price. Therefore glorify God in your body and in your spirit, which are God’s" 1 Corinthians 6:19-20 WEB.
First, let's address the authority in the name of Jesus. You did not mention Jesus Christ, Jesus or Christ in your prayer. It is only in the authority of Jesus Christ that we are saved, have access to God the Father, and can intercede to Him. And there is salvation in no one else, for there is no other name under heaven given to people by which we must be saved Acts 4:12 WEB.
We stand with you in prayer, asking for God's healing and deliverance. In Jesus' name, we pray for God's strength to help you overcome these habits. They are serving to steal your peace of mind and joy. The Bible tells us, "The thief only comes to steal, kill, and destroy. I came that they may have life, and may have it abundantly" John 10:10 WEB.
We encourage you to actively pursue God's word and seek His presence. All of our struggles have been defeated at the cross. Our sins have been forgiven and we are free from condemnation. Our bodies are not our own. We were bought with the price of Jesus Christ's shed blood on the cross. Everyday is an opportunity to draw closer to Him and to be transformed by the renewing of our minds.
While you are overcoming, you are not alone. We are with you and many others are experiencing their own struggles. Many others are also fighting and finding victory. The Bible says, "No temptation has taken you except what is common to man. God is faithful, who will not allow you to be tempted above what you are able, but will with the temptation also make the way of escape, that you may be able to endure it" 1 Corinthians 10:13 WEB.
As the Bible says, "For freedom Christ has set us free. Stand firm, therefore, and don’t be entangled again with a yoke of bondage" Galatians 5:1 WEB.
Let us pray together:
Dear Heavenly Father, we come before you in the name of Jesus, lifting up our sister Naomi. Father, she desires to be fully delivered from skin picking and nail-biting, and we stand with her in this request. Lord, You have shown her that she can have nice nails and pretty skin, and we believe that You are faithful to complete the good work You have started in her.
Father, help Naomi to fully surrender these habits to You. Give her the strength and self-control to overcome these behaviors. Lord, we ask for a renewing of her mind and an increase in her faith. Help her to see herself as You see her – holy, blameless, and beyond reproach.
We rebuke any spirit of anxiety, stress, or compulsion that may be driving these behaviors. In Jesus' name, we command these spirits to flee and never return. Father, we ask for Your peace to fill Naomi's heart and mind. Help her to be transformed by the renewing of her mind, and to live in the freedom that Christ has won for her.
We pray all these things in Jesus' mighty name. Amen.
Take heart, Naomi. God is with you and He is for you. You are not alone in this battle. Stand firm in your faith and trust in God's promises. He is faithful to see you through.
