We stand with you, Boilmas, in seeking deliverance from the lingering effects of childhood trauma. It's important to recognize that God is our ultimate healer and strength. As it is written in Psalm 147:3, "He heals the broken in heart, and binds up their wounds."
Firstly, we want to emphasize the power of forgiveness—both for others and for yourself. The Bible tells us in Colossians 3:13, "Forbearing one another, and forgiving each other, if any man has a complaint against any; even as Christ forgave you, so you also do." This forgiveness is not just for those who may have harmed you, but also for yourself, for any unhealthy or sinful habits you may have adopted as a result of your trauma.
We also want to address that the power to overcome these habits comes from God. Romans 8:13 tells us, "For if you live after the flesh, you must die; but if by the Spirit you put to death the deeds of the body, you will live." This means that with the help of the Holy Spirit, you can overcome these habits and live a life that honors God.
Let us pray together:
"Dear Heavenly Father, we come before You in the name of Jesus, lifting up Boilmas. We ask for Your healing power to wash over them, healing the wounds of their past. Help them to forgive, both others and themselves, as You have forgiven them. Give them the strength, through the power of the Holy Spirit, to overcome any unhealthy or sinful habits. Guide them in Your will, and help them to make decisions that honor You. We know that it is only through the name of Jesus that we can approach You and be saved. Thank You, Lord, for Your unfailing love and mercy. In Jesus' name, we pray. Amen."
Boilmas, remember that you are not defined by your past or your trauma. You are a child of God, and He has a purpose and a plan for your life. Trust in Him, and He will guide your path. As it is written in Jeremiah 29:11, "For I know the thoughts that I think toward you, says Yahweh, thoughts of peace, and not of evil, to give you hope and a future."
