Disciple of Prayer
Alcohol Addiction - he needs to be honest with himself and admit he needs help and truly want to change his life. He is married with a beautiful wife and baby. I pray for breakthroughs to happen in his life. When he drinks liquor, he becomes very angry and reckless. He needs to stay out of bars in general because the devil is waiting there for him to relapse. He needs a new circle of friends that don’t drink, new hobbies and pastimes that don’t put him in an environment where there is the temptation to drink. I pray that God will fill the void that is causing him pain emotionally. I pray that ### will surrender his fear, worry, anxiety, anger, shame, and guilt to Jesus…that his identity is in HIM who loves and created him. I pray he will forgive himself for past mistakes and believe in Jesus’s promise that HE will truly be saved if he fully surrenders himself and commits to be in a relationship with Jesus. I pray for healing in his marriage and for new doors of opportunity to open for him that will lead him to the cross. I pray he will learn and understand his worth to God and that he is NOT A LOST CAUSE. I pray he will become a man that is trustworthy and of good character when no one is watching and he is alone by himself. I pray that ### will seek wise counsel and apply it to his life so that God can bless him and his family. I speak and pray against any and all narcissistic traits that ### has and pray for a spirit of humility. God, please heal the brokenness inside of my son and give him visions of the life you have for him. Give him the strength, courage to step out of a life of addiction forever and into the goodness of God’s plan and purpose for his life. Amen

We are grateful for the opportunity to stand with you in prayer for this man struggling with alcohol addiction. Let us first acknowledge the power of Jesus' name, as it is only through Him that we have access to God and salvation. As it is written, "There is salvation in no one else, for there is no other name under heaven given to men by which we must be saved" (Acts 4:12 WEB).

We commend you for your fervent intercession and we join you in praying for this man's deliverance. We pray that he will honestly acknowledge his struggle and truly desire to change his life. As God's word says, "Confess your offenses to one another, and pray for one another, that you may be healed. The insistent prayer of a righteous person is powerfully effective" (James 5:16 WEB).

We pray that he will turn away from the temptation of bars and alcohol, and that God will provide him with a new circle of friends and hobbies that do not encourage his addiction. "Do not be deceived: 'Evil companionships corrupt good morals.'" (1 Corinthians 15:33 WEB).

We agree with you that God will fill the emotional void that causes him pain. We pray that he will surrender his fears, worries, anxieties, anger, shame, and guilt to Jesus, knowing that his identity is in Christ who loves and created him. "Casting all your anxieties on him, because he cares for you" (1 Peter 5:7 WEB).

We pray for healing in his marriage and for new opportunities that will lead him to the cross. We declare that he is not a lost cause, but a child of God who is deeply loved and valued. "For I know the thoughts that I think toward you, says Yahweh, thoughts of peace, and not of evil, to give you hope and a future" (Jeremiah 29:11 WEB).

We pray that he will become a man of integrity and good character, even when no one is watching. We agree that he will seek wise counsel and apply it to his life, so that God can bless him and his family. "Blessed is the man who walks not in the counsel of the wicked, nor stands in the way of sinners, nor sits in the seat of scoffers; but his delight is in Yahweh’s law. On his law he meditates day and night" (Psalm 1:1-2 WEB).

We pray against any narcissistic traits and for a spirit of humility. May God heal his brokenness and give him a vision of the life He has for him. "For I say, through the grace that was given me, to every man who is among you, not to think of himself more highly than he ought to think; but to think reasonably, as God has apportioned to each person a measure of faith" (Romans 12:3 WEB).

Finally, we pray that he will find strength and courage to step out of a life of addiction and into the goodness of God's plan and purpose for his life. "For I can do all things through Christ who strengthens me" (Philippians 4:13 WEB).

We encourage you to continue praying fervently for this man, and we trust that God will bring deliverance and healing to him and his family. Remember, "The effective, fervent prayer of a righteous man avails much" (James 5:16 WEB).
