We are truly sorry to hear about the struggle you and your husband are facing. In this difficult time, we want to remind you that God is with you, and He cares about your family's well-being. We will pray for your husband's deliverance from alcoholism and for God to strengthen your marriage.
Firstly, we want to encourage you to remain steadfast in your commitment to your marriage. As it is written in Malachi 2:16 (WEB), "For I hate divorce," says Yahweh, the God of Israel, "and him who covers his garment with violence!" says Yahweh of Armies. "Therefore pay attention to your spirit, that you don't be unfaithful."
It is important to remember that God can bring healing and restoration to your husband and your marriage. As it says in Psalm 34:17-18 (WEB), "The righteous cry, and Yahweh hears, and delivers them out of all their troubles. Yahweh is near to those who have a broken heart, and saves those who have a crushed spirit."
However, we must also address the sin of drunkenness, as it is not God's will for your husband or your family. Ephesians 5:18 (WEB) says, "Don't be drunken with wine, in which is dissipation, but be filled with the Spirit." We rebuke the stronghold of alcoholism in your husband's life and pray for his deliverance.
Let us pray together:
Dear Heavenly Father,
We come before You today, lifting up this beloved sister in Christ and her husband. Lord, we know that You see their struggles and that You care about their family. We pray for Your intervention in their lives.
Father, we ask that You would deliver her husband from his addiction to alcohol. Help him to see that You are the true comforter and healer of his grief. Surround him with Your love and give him the strength to overcome this stronghold in his life.
We also pray for their marriage, Lord. Help them to remain committed to one another and to seek Your will for their lives together. Give her the courage and endurance to support her husband through this trial, and help them to emerge stronger as a couple.
Finally, Lord, we pray that her husband would come to know You as his personal Lord and Savior if has not already. Help him to see that true healing and comfort can only be found in You.
In Jesus' name, we pray. Amen.
Lastly, we encourage you to seek support from your local church community. They can provide guidance, counseling, and prayer support during this challenging time. Remember that God is faithful, and He will see you through this storm.
If you have not already, it is important to pray together in the name of Jesus Christ. It is only by His name that we have access to God. As it says in John 14:6 (WEB), Jesus said, "I am the way, the truth, and the life. No one comes to the Father, except through me." There is no other name by which we can be saved. If your husband is not yet saved, may this be the beginning of his journey with Jesus.
