Deliver My Spouse
From The Evil One!
"And lead us not into temptation, but deliver us from the evil one." Matthew 6:13
Do you wonder every day what happened to your husband or wife? Has the Lord revealed or answered some of your questions yet? I wish I had known what I know now, before I made all my mistakes over 25 years ago. I understand now that I did not know the Word of God well enough. I did not make a regular time with the Lord to do daily devotions. I did not memorize scriptures, nor did I put on the Armor of God daily for myself and my family. Where are you in all those areas? I was a born-again baby Christian and stayed a baby for a long time! I made mistakes as a wife and did not show love to my husband in the way the Bible teaches. I failed as a wife, but my Lord gave me another chance after our divorce to not give up on my husband and my God. Your Lord God will also give you another chance so start praying for your beloved spouse.
My husband had exposed himself to temptations as a youngster, and as a teenager the enemy was waiting to tempt him more and more. I did not know when I married him that there was a battle raging on the inside of him between doing right and wrong. Bob had accepted the Lord as a teenager, but he also did not grow in the Lord spiritually. Then one day at work, the enemy starting tempting Bob with thoughts about other women. Dear stander, there are men and women around the world who are not Christians and they do not have any moral values. Other people are Christians and are being deceived by the enemy and they are being tempted to fall into sin, also. Some of these people even work with your spouse! They may not realize that your spouse is married or some do not think it is even wrong to flirt with co-workers. The enemy is cunning, crafty, tricky and also appears as an angel of light. (2 Corinthians 11:14)
Be self-controlled and alert. Your enemy the devil prowls around like a roaring lion looking for someone to devour. Resist him, standing firm in the faith, because you know that your brothers throughout the world are undergoing the same kind of sufferings. And the God of all grace, who called you to his eternal glory in Christ, after you have suffered a little while, will himself restore you and make you strong, firm and steadfast. 1 Peter 5:8-10
You and I need to know and share with others what can happen to a marriage so quickly. When couples marry they need to know that the Word warns against sexual immorality throughout the Bible. The Bible teaches us it has disastrous results. You and your spouse will learn that it can be avoided by being firmly committed to all that God says throughout His Word especially about falling into sexual sin. Do not allow yourself to think or dwell on lustful thoughts or pleasures and know that this sin leads to sorrow, regret and death. Proverbs talks about this in Chapters 4-7. Read them. Here is a sample about the adulterous woman who is after a man in Proverbs 7. Beware both men and women!
With persuasive words she led him astray; she seduced him with her smooth talk. All at once he followed her like an ox going to the slaughter, like a deer stepping into a noose till an arrow pierces his liver, like a bird darting into a snare, little knowing it will cost him his life. Now then, my sons, listen to me; pay attention to what I say. Do not let your heart turn to her ways or stray into her paths. Many are the victims she has brought down; her slain are a mighty throng. Her house is a highway to the grave, leading down to the chambers of death. Proverbs 7:21-27
Jesus is the answer. You must first turn to the Lord confessing your sins, repenting, turning 180 degrees in a different direction, seeking the Lord to change you and your beloved husband or wife from your own personal sinful ways and lifestyle. Your Lord God will make you and your spouse into a new man and woman of God. When Jesus Christ died on the cross at Calvary, He shed His Blood for all our sins. But Jesus also left the Holy Spirit to guide us, instruct us and protect us from the evil one.
"Watch and pray so that you will not fall into temptation. The spirit is willing, but the body is weak." Matthew 26:41
What happened to your spouse does not matter now. What are you going to do about your marriage problems? How are you going to react, live, and fight for your spouse who has been taken captive by the enemy of sin? Your Lord God will go after your spouse. He has not given up on your husband or wife regardless of what they are doing right now.
My prayer for you today and every day is that you will never give up believing in the power of your awesome God to win the war against separation and divorce. Remember, there is a way of escape for your husband or wife. Your Lord's divine light is shining brightly, showing them the way home!
For God did not send his Son into the world to condemn the world, but to save the world through him. John 3:17
