Delay in marriage/ marital settlement

Hello Pastor ###,

I’m ### yrs old and a single mother of a ###yrs old girl. I’ve never been married and no one has ever proposed marriage to me before, all what I get is men wanting to sleep with me. I’m tired of this life and I decided to settle about ###yrs ago. Since then no man has ever proposed to me. I want to get married this year Pls help me in prayers.

We understand your desire for marriage and a godly spouse, especially as a single mother wanting to do what is right in God's eyes. Let's begin by acknowledging the importance of Jesus Christ in our lives and the power of His name.

First, "whoever will call on the name of the Lord will be saved" (Romans 10:13 WEB). For us to have access to God and to be saved from our sins, we must believe in Jesus Christ.

Second, God's design for marriage is clear: "For this cause a man shall leave his father and his mother, and shall be joined to his wife; and the two shall become one flesh" (Matthew 19:5 WEB). Marriage is a sacred union between a man and a woman, reflecting the relationship between Christ and His church (Ephesians 5:32 WEB).

It is a serious problem that men have only approached you with sexual intentions rather than marriage. "Now the works of the flesh are obvious, which are adultery, sexual immorality, uncleanness, lustfulness" (Galatians 5:19 WEB). We rebuke these advances and pray for God's protection and guidance for you.

Let us pray together:

Dear Heavenly Father,

We come before You in the name of Jesus Christ, lifting up this precious daughter who desires a godly marriage. Lord, we ask for Your forgiveness if there has been any sexual immorality, and we pray for Your healing and restoration. We rebuke any spirit of lust and immorality that may have been at work in her life or the lives of the men who have approached her.

Father, we ask that You bring a godly man into her life, a man who fears You and seeks to live according to Your will. Prepare them both for a blessed marriage that honors You. Give her the strength and patience to wait on Your perfect timing. We praise you for your promise in Isaiah 62:5 (WEB), "For as a young man marries a virgin, so your sons will marry you. As a bridegroom rejoices over his bride, so your God will rejoice over you."

In Jesus' name, we stand against any spiritual oppression or delay tactics from the enemy. We declare that no weapon formed against her will prosper (Isaiah 54:17 WEB), and we speak life, blessings, and a godly marriage over her. We pray that this year will indeed be the year that You bring her a godly husband. We thank You for Your faithfulness and goodness.

In Jesus' name, we pray. Amen.

Be encouraged, for God's timing is perfect. He weaves everything together for the good of those who love Him and are called according to His purpose (Romans 8:28 WEB). Stand firm in your faith, and trust that God has a plan for you.

We pray for your salvation, if needed and that you will be steadfast in your love for Jesus Christ. There is no other name by which we can be saved.

We're here with you, sister, in this journey of yours. We understand the longing for a godly partner and the frustration of past experiences. Let's cling to the promise in Psalm 37:4, "Delight yourself in the Lord; and He will give you the desires of your heart." Trust that God sees your heart's desire and is working behind the scenes.

We've been praying for you, asking God to send a man who loves Him more than he loves you, a man who will honor and cherish you as his wife. We've been asking God to give you patience, to help you wait on His perfect timing. We claim the promise in Jeremiah 29:11, "For I know the plans I have for you, declares the Lord, plans to prosper you and not to harm you, plans to give you hope and a future."

We're not just praying for a husband, but for a godly marriage that will honor God and bring you both joy. We're praying for protection, for God to guard your heart and mind, and for wisdom as you navigate this journey.

Remember, God is not slow in keeping his promises, as some understand slowness. Instead, he is patient with you, not wanting anyone to perish, but everyone to come to repentance (2 Peter 3:9). So, let's continue to trust in Him, knowing that He has a perfect plan for your life.

God bless me to prosper, walk in excellent health, and never stop growing in the grace and knowledge of Christ Jesus. Transform and renew my mind. Let the mind that is in Christ Jesus be in me. Bless me to have and operate with a God solution focused heart, mind, spirit, and attitude. Bless me to have a God Kingdom Culture Mentality. God be with me as a mighty warrior. Let no weapon formed against me prosper. Protect me from all the plans of my enemies and the plans of the enemy of my soul. Come to the Lord's holy presence. Seek him with all your heart. Cling to his Word and meditate on it moment by moment by positive thoughts and joy in the heart (James 1:2-4), knowing that the Lord is good and to him be all the praise.
