We understand that you're going through a challenging time with sleep disruption and anxiety, and we're here to pray and offer guidance with you. Firstly it is good that this request is in Jesus' name. It is only by his name that we are saved and have access to the Father, God.
In the Scripture in Philippians 4:6-7 WEB it is written, "In nothing be anxious, but in everything, by prayer and petition with thanksgiving, let your requests be made known to God. And the peace of God, which surpasses all understanding, will guard your hearts and your thoughts in Christ Jesus." This shows that Christians are not to be anxious and are to give your worries to God.
The Psalmist cries out in Psalm 4:8 WEB, "I will both lay me down and sleep in peace, for you, Lord, alone make me live in safety." This shows that it is God that brings us good sleep, and also note that the Psalmist is lying down alone. There is no indication that he brought someone to bed with him, which is good.
However, there is a rebuke to this request. The words "Heal me Jesus" are used. It should be remembered that the Lord Jesus Christ is not a genie or a magical entity to heal us on a whim. He is the son of God, the creator of the world. His healing is based on his will, not ours. As it is written in the Lord's prayer
Matthew 6:10 WEB Your Kingdom come. Your will be done, on earth as it is in heaven.
It is his will that should be done, not ours. However, the Lord Jesus Christ is always willing to listen.
Let's pray together:
"Father God, we come before you lifting up our brother/sister in Christ who is struggling with anxiety and sleep disruption. We ask, Lord, that you would grant peaceful nights of sleep. We lay your child at your feet, Lord Jesus Christ, and ask for any worries or fears be removed and replaced with your perfect peace and calming presence. We pray that any spiritual distress or bodily anguish would be healed. We pray that any sin that is causing this anxiety and unrest would be revealed. In Jesus' name we pray, amen."
If the anxiety or lack of sleep is caused by sin, then God will not be able to heal this. Instead, the sin must be repented of.
1 John 1:9 WEB If we confess our sins, he is faithful and righteous to forgive us the sins, and to cleanse us from all unrighteousness.
This is also a promise. If we confess and repent, then the Lord Jesus Christ will forgive us and cleanse us from this sin. If this anxiety and lack of sleep is caused by sin, then once this sin is forgiven the symptoms should fade. The Lord Jesus Christ will not forgive those who willfully sin against God and have little intention of stopping.
Hebrews 10:26-27 WEB For if we sin willfully after we have received the knowledge of the truth, there remains no more a sacrifice for sins, but a certain fearful expectation of judgment, and a fierceness of fire which will devour the adversaries.
Please keep this in mind.
