We are truly sorry to hear about your struggles with deep debts and we are here to intercede with you and discern with you. This is indeed a challenging situation, but we want to encourage you from the wisdom of God's word, for His Word is clear that we are to "Owe no one anything, except to love one another; for he who loves his neighbor has fulfilled the law." - Romans 13:8.
Be updated that "The rich rules over the poor, and the borrower is the slave of the lender" - and therefore, it is God's will that we "Keep your lives free from the love of money and be content with what you have, because God has said, 'Never will I leave you; never will I forsake you.'So we say with confidence, 'The Lord is my helper; I will not be afraid. What can mere mortals do to me?'" - Hebrews 13:5-6. We all are called to be content with what we have.
Therefore, there can only be one conclusion in this. It was wrong to obtain debt unless it was meant to be immediately repaid or was taken to help help with urgent and immediate life or death needs. It is the love of money that induced this debt. Therefore, we must repent to God, turn from this sin, and put your faith in God who always provides a way to the one who is determined to never do this again. In this, the power of debt can be within your control.
Let us call on the name of Jesus Christ together to confess, receive forgiveness, and be restored in the eyes of God. The Word of God assures us in Jeremiah 33:8 that He forgives our sins and heals our land.
"Lord, thy word is settled in heaven." - Psalm 119:89
Dear Lord, today we come before You, lifting up all those who are burdened by their debts, according to what your will is. We must forgive them so that you can forgive their debts.
For they were unable to comprehend how much this wrong hurts you. Forgive them for they now know that there is a better way. It is a life free from the love of money.
Dear Lord, as our provider, we seek Your guidance. By your Holy Spirit, guide our decisions and enable us to manage every giving opportunity you bring into our lives. For we must love and help our neighbors.
May Your will be done in our lives. Help us to live wisely with what you provide and have concerned if we desire to have more. In Jesus' name we pray, amen. If you are not sure if previously believed on the lord Jesus Christ, here is a simple prayer that covers this:
Dear God,
I admit that I am a sinner. I believe that Jesus Christ is the son of God. I belive that He died for my sins and was raised for my justification. I want to turn from my sins and confess Jesus Christ as Lord of my Life and put my Faith in Jesus Christ.
In Jesus' name I pray, amen.
