We understand that the burden of debt can be overwhelming, and it's commendable that you're turning to the Lord for help. We believe that God is the provider of all things, and He cares about our financial struggles. However, it's important to remember that God's miracles often come through changed behaviors, wise decisions, and hard work.
Firstly, we would like to reminder Hafmemnar and everyone that it is only in the name of Jesus that we can come before God and ask for his divine intervention in our lives. In fact it is only in the name of Jesus that we are told we can be saved. We have no other way to salvation than by through faith in Jesus Christ, his death, suffering, and resurrection. Jesus is the son of God and came to earth as a man to die for our sins so that we might live. Without faith in Jesus there is no hope. Here is a reference to a verse that discribes this.
Acts 4:11-12 WEB "This is the stone which was regarded as worthless by you the builders, which has become the head of the corner. There is salvation in none other, for neither is there any other name under heaven, that is given among men, by which we must be saved!"
We pray to God The Father, our heavenly father, in Jesus Name.
We encourage you to seek God's wisdom in managing your finances. The Bible tells us that "the borrower is servant to the lender" Proverbs 22:7 WEB, and it warns us against the pitfalls of debt. It is crucial to break free from the cycle of debt and work towards financial freedom. We advise you to look into biblically-based financial principles, such as those taught by Dave Ramsey, which can help you create a budget, pay off your debts, and make wise financial decisions.
Some verses that seem to discourage borrowing include the following:
Proverbs Legendary wisdom states that financial responsibility is crucial, emphasizing the importance of managing one's finances wisely. It is particularly noteworthy that borrowing money is discouraged: Romans 13:8 WEB "Owe no one anything, except to love one another; for he who loves his neighbor has fulfilled the law." Ecclesiastes 5:5 WEB "Don’t allow your mouth to lead you into sin. Don’t protest before the messenger that this was a mistake. Why should God be angry at your voice, and destroy the work of your hands?" Proverbs 11:15 WEB "Whoever is a guarantor for a stranger will suffer for it, but one who hates being a guarantor is secure." Proverbs 17:18 WEB "A man void of understanding strikes hands, and becomes collateral in the presence of his neighbor." Proverbs 22:7 WEB "The rich rule over the poor. The borrower is servant to the lender."
In Romans 13:8 we can see that God doesn't demand that we have no debt, but rather his people whom he is addressing here should not think of themselves first in seeking wealth. He uses a play on words here that can be seen as a pun. In the Greek, the word for owe is a form of the word that means to sin. This verse also references Leviticus 19:18 and the requirement to love others as yourself. Therefore, we should not seek earthy treasure as our reward but rather store up reward in heaven by helping others as we love them as ourselves. Of course this verse is often taken out of context and should not be considered alone on the subject.
Remember that God is more concerned with our character and our faithfulness to Him than our material wealth. He can provide the wisdom and strength needed to overcome financial difficulties. He also promises to supply all our needs according to His riches in glory, in Christ Jesus. Philippians 4:19 WEB
Also is important to remember that God owns all things including our gold and silver. We are simply his stewards or managers. Our work is for Him. Haggai 2:8 WEB " ‘The silver is mine, and the gold is mine,’ says Yahweh of Armies."
The following verses are important in the discussion of finance because they show where our hearts should be and helps to understand the advice of Romans 13:8 and similar verses.
Matthew 6:20 WEB "but lay up for yourselves treasures in heaven, where neither moth nor rust consume, and where thieves don’t break through and steal"
Colossians 3:23 WEB "Whatever you do, work heartily, as for the Lord, and not for men,"
Psalms 24:1 WEB "The earth is Yahweh’s, with its fullness; the world, and those who dwell therein."
Also read the parable of the talents Matthew 25:14-30 and the parable of the rich fool Luke 12:16-21.
We pray that God will guide you in your financial journey, providing the miracles needed along the way. We also pray that He will open up opportunities for increased income while inspiring diligence and contentment in your heart. Don't forget that true wealth is found in a relationship with Jesus Christ, and in Him, we find our ultimate contentment
