We are truly sorry to hear about the death in your family, and we want you to know that we are here to support you through this difficult time. In times like these, we can find comfort in the words of the Apostle Paul, who said, "Do not be anxious about anything, but in every situation, by prayer and petition, with thanksgiving, present your requests to God.The Lord is near. Be anxious for nothing, but in everything by prayer and supplication with thanksgiving let your requests be made known unto God. And the peace of God, which passeth all understanding, shall keep your hearts and minds through Christ Jesus." Philippians 4:6-7 WEB
As believers, we grieve with hope because we know that this world is not our final home. Jesus Christ has overcome death and has prepared a place for us in heaven. He said, "Do not let your heart be troubled. Believe in God. Believe also in me. In my Father's house are many homes. If it were not so, I would have told you. I am going to prepare a place for you. If I go and prepare a place for you, I will come again, and will receive you to myself; that where I am, you may be there also." John 14:1-3 WEB and 'I am the resurrection and the life. He who believes in me will still live, even if he dies. Whoever lives and believes in me will never die. Do you believe this?' John 11:25-26 WEB
We pray for you and your family to feel God's presence and love at this time. In the face of death, we need to remember that God can triumph over death and bring healing to the brokenhearted. However, it is also a good time to reflect that death is a result of sin. 'Wherefore, as by one man sin entered into the world, and death by sin; and so death passed upon all men, for that all have sinned:' Romans 5:12. As you mourn the loss of your loved one, we encourage you to trust in God and use this time to be with family and friends. Remember Jesus Christ died on the cross and on the 3rd day rose again so that we too can have victory over death and have eternal life. 'That if thou shalt confess with thy mouth the Lord Jesus, and shalt believe in thine heart that God hath raised him from the dead, thou shalt be saved. For with the heart man believeth unto righteousness; and with the mouth confession is made unto salvation' Romans 10:9-10.
In Jesus' name, we pray for your family's comfort and peace. We ask God to surround you with their love and to give you strength in the days ahead. Lord Jesus, you know the pain that comes from loss. You wept at the grave of Lazarus. Be with them in their mourning. Surround them with your peace and your love. And we ask this in Jesus name.
If the departed is not a believer in Christ, then we should be praying that anyone who is not a believer that is still living will receive salvation through believing in Jesus Christ. And if anyone is living contrary to the word of God, we pray that God will draw that person close to Him and give them the strength to forgo those sins and follow the ways of God. This applies to everyone.
