Dear Lord, please watch over my ###. Please help him overcome his depression and addiction so that he can live a good life. Please dear Lord, please help him, please watch over him. Amen,

Dear Lord,

We come before you today on behalf of ### and their son. Lord, we lift up their son to you, knowing that you are the ultimate healer and deliverer. We ask that you would intervene in his life and bring healing to his mind, body, and spirit.

Lord, we specifically ask that you would help him overcome his depression and addiction. We know that these struggles can be overwhelming, but we believe in your power to bring freedom and restoration. Your Word reminds us in Psalm 34:17-18 that you are near to the brokenhearted and save those who are crushed in spirit. We ask that you would draw near to him in his time of need and bring comfort and healing to his soul.

Lord, we also pray for guidance and wisdom for ### as they support their son through this difficult journey. Give them strength and patience, and surround them with a community of support. Help them to trust in your perfect timing and to lean on you for strength and guidance.

We declare in faith that you are able to do exceedingly and abundantly more than we can ask or imagine. We believe that you can bring transformation and restoration to their son's life. We trust in your unfailing love and mercy.

I can certainly understand the concern you have for your son, friend. How old is he? Have you considered counseling/medication for his situation? Also, try some practical steps by looking for things to do to keep his mind off from negative feelings. Maybe he could pursue an activity, sport, or hobby that he enjoys and that makes him feel good. Physical exercise has the added benefit of helping to relieve negative emotions naturally, too. Additionally, he may find this book insightful: bit.ly/2dx9uUt.
