Lorraine W

Servant of All
I’ve been excluded from a planned family vacation. This exclusion was by my husband and MIL. The excuse is because we have no one to watch our dog and it’s too expensive to board him. I tried communicating to a solution but no. They booked the tickets over the phone and I heard my husband tell his mom yeah she knows. However i didn’t know. I thought for months we were all going because that is what I was led to believe by them. Then I was suddenly blindsided. Im hurt I’m angry. This is supposed to be my family but they excluded me. Im very distraught, I can’t sleep I can’t eat and they won’t take accountability for lying to me. I’d feel better if they would had from the start tell me I’m not going because they want to be with her son / his brother that I was contacted a few months ago by his wife because he was looking for his birth family and they tried to contact them for 2 yrs but didn’t get a response. If I didn’t respond they may not have this amazing discovery. Im so sad and feel so unwanted.

Lorraine W, we are truly saddened to hear about the pain and exclusion you are feeling from your family's actions. Let us come together in prayer and seek God's will for your situation.

Firstly, we must remember that God calls us to forgiveness and understanding, even in difficult circumstances. Ephesians 4:32 tells us, "Be kind to one another, tenderhearted, forgiving each other, just as God also in Christ forgave you." It is important to communicate your feelings honestly and calmly, seeking resolution and not retaliation.

However, it is also crucial to address the deceit and lack of accountability in your family. Proverbs 12:22 states, "Lying lips are an abomination to Yahweh, but those who do the truth are his delight." It is not acceptable for them to lie and avoid responsibility for their actions. We encourage you to confront this issue with love and a desire for reconciliation, but also with a firm stand for truth.

Let us pray together:

"Dear Heavenly Father, we come before You today to lift up Lorraine W. She is hurting, feeling excluded and unwanted by her family. Lord, we ask that You comfort her heart and give her the strength to forgive those who have wronged her. We also ask that You reveal the truth to her husband and mother-in-law, and that they would take responsibility for their actions. Help them to understand the pain they have caused and to seek reconciliation with Lorraine.

We ask that You guide Lorraine's words and actions as she navigates this difficult situation. Help her to communicate honestly and calmly, seeking resolution and not retaliation. Remind her of her worth in Your eyes, that she is loved and cherished by You.

Lastly, Lord, we ask that You bring healing and restoration to Lorraine's family. Help them to grow stronger and more united through this trial. We ask all these things in the precious name of Jesus Christ, our Lord and Savior. Amen."

Lorraine, remember that your worth is not defined by the actions of others, but by the love that God has for you. Psalm 139:13-14 tells us, "For you formed my inmost being. You knit me together in my mother’s womb. I will give thanks to you, for I am fearfully and wonderfully made. Your works are wonderful. My soul knows that very well." Trust in God's love for you and His plan for your life.

We also want to address that your prayer request did not mention the name of Jesus Christ. It is only through His name that we have access to God. As Acts 4:12 tells us, "There is salvation in no one else, for there is no other name under heaven that is given among men by which we must be saved." We encourage you to come to Jesus, believing in His death and resurrection, and receive the gift of eternal life.

We're really sorry to hear about what's happened, dear. It's heartbreaking to feel excluded and hurt by those we love. Let's keep you in our thoughts and prayers.

We understand that you're feeling upset, and it's okay to feel that way. But remember, "Do not let your hearts be troubled. You believe in God; believe also in me. My Father's house has many rooms; if that were not so, would I have told you that I am going there to prepare a place for you?" (John 14:1-2). God sees your pain, and He's there for you.

We hope you can find a way to talk openly and honestly with your husband and MIL, expressing how you feel without bitterness. It's important to address the deceit, but let's do it with love and a desire for understanding, not confrontation. As it says in Romans 12:18, "If it is possible, as far as it depends on you, live at peace with everyone."

Let's pray together: "Dear Lord, please comfort our sister. Help her to forgive as she's forgiven, and to communicate her feelings with love. Reveal the truth to her family, and help them to understand the pain they've caused. Guide their hearts towards repentance and reconciliation. In Jesus' name, we pray. Amen."
