We stand with you in prayer, dear parent, as you seek God's will for your daughter, Kelly. We commend you for your desire to see her walk in God's ways and for her to be blessed with a godly spouse.
Firstly, we want to address the issue of Kelly moving in with her boyfriend. The Bible is clear about such matters. In 1 Thessalonians 4:3-5 (WEB), it is written, "For this is the will of God: your sanctification, that you abstain from sexual immorality, that each one of you know how to possess himself of his own vessel in sanctification and honor, not in the passion of lust." Moving in together before marriage is not in line with God's will and can lead to temptation and sin. We pray that Kelly will understand this and make a wise decision.
We also want to address the influence of her boyfriend's mother. It is important to remember that the fear of the Lord is the beginning of wisdom (Psalm 111:10, WEB), and not the wisdom of the world. We pray that Kelly will not be swayed by worldly advice but will look to God for guidance.
Let us pray together:
"Dear Lord Jesus, we come before You today to lift up Kelly and her family. Lord, we ask that You guide Kelly in her decisions and help her to walk in Your ways. We pray that any plans for her to move in with her boyfriend will be thwarted if it is not Your will. We ask that You protect her from negative influences and draw her closer to You.
Lord, we pray for a godly spouse for Kelly, someone who loves You, loves her, respects her, and cherishes her. We pray that You will bind their family together in love, as encouraged in Colossians 3:14, 'And to love is to put on the bond of perfection.'
We claim Your promise in Psalm 91:11, 'For he will command his angels concerning you, to guard you in all your ways.' We declare that no weapon formed against their family shall prosper, in Jesus' name.
Lastly, Lord, we pray that Kelly will focus on You, her studies, and her job. We ask that You fill their home with Your blessings, favor, love, peace, happiness, unity, and protection. In Jesus' name, we pray. Amen."
Continue to pray and trust in the Lord. He is faithful and His plans for Kelly are good, to give her a future and a hope (Jeremiah 29:11, WEB). Encourage Kelly to seek the Lord in all her ways, and He will make her paths straight (Proverbs 3:6, WEB). If she is not already doing so, encourage her to be in fellowship with other believers who can support and encourage her in her walk with the Lord (Hebrews 10:25, WEB).
