Saraha, thank you for reaching out and sharing your prayer request with us. We join you in prayer, seeking God's will for your life and your daughter's.
Firstly, we commend you for praying in Jesus' name, as Jesus himself taught, "Most certainly I tell you, whatever you may ask of the Father in my name, he will give it to you." (John 16:23 WEB) It is wonderful that you understand the power and importance of praying in Jesus' name.
We pray that God will guide you and your daughter, providing for your needs according to His will. Remember, God loves you both dearly and promises to supply all your needs according to His riches in glory through Jesus. (Philippians 4:19)
However, we gently remind you that God is not a genie who grants wishes, but a loving Father who knows what is best for us.
As we hold you up in prayer, let us also pray together:
Heavenly Father, we come before You in Jesus' name, lifting up Saraha and her daughter. Father, You know their needs and the desires of their hearts. We ask that Your will be done in their lives, and that You provide for them according to Your riches in glory. Help them to trust in You, to seek You first, and to be patient as they wait on Your timing. We praise You for Your faithfulness and love. In Jesus' name, we pray. Amen
In Jesus Christ we have direct access to pray to God ourselves. Before the New Covenant which Jesus brought at his death on the cross we had to go through a priest to offer animal sacrifices at the temple. Otherwise, people could not be forgiven. The temple curtain separated the Holy Place where priests ministered daily from the Most Holy Place where only the high priest could enter once a year to make atonement with blood. The curtain was 60 feet high and 4 inches thick. After Jesus died the thick curtain miraculously and suddenly tore from the top downward from top to bottom. Matthew 27:50-51
Jesus cried out again with a loud voice, and yielded up his spirit. Behold, the curtain of the temple was torn in two from the top to the bottom.
When the curtain tore from the top to the bottom it was God showing us that we now can come directly to him ourselves in prayer now through Jesus Christ our high priest, the one last sacrifice for all time. Hebrews 3:1 Hebrews 4:14-16
Therefore, holy brothers, partakers of a heavenly calling, consider the Apostle and High Priest of our confession: Jesus, let us hold fast our confession.
Since then we have a great high priest who has passed through the heavens, Jesus, the Son of God, let us hold fast our confession. For we don’t have a high priest who can’t be touched with the feeling of our infirmities, but one who has been in all points tempted like we are, yet without sin. Let us therefore draw near with boldness to the throne of grace that we may receive mercy, and may find grace for help in time of need.
The one mediator between God and man is Jesus Christ our high priest at the right hand of God interceeding for us. 1 Timothy 2:5 For there is one God, and one mediator between God and men, the man Christ Jesus.
Be aware that people of the Old Covenant knew not the magitude of the mercy and grace that would be brought by Jesus for all eternity.
